Re: Read only mode
I am so embarrassed. My default for years has been the composer window, and I didn’t realize that there was a browser window, into which the new version apparently defaulted. All is well! What’s weird is that I have been using Seamonkey for years with Mac OS. There has been a gap of about two months as my web host quit. During this time I have made no changes to the software or the data, and everything else on the Mac is working fine. Can you recommend someone who might be able to help if it is a Mac:Seamonkey related problem? Thanks! Ken I'm sorry, I can't. Mac people (MacPeople?) do follow this forum so I'd expect one of them to notice that this is something where they could help, even if to say "I have MacOS xxx and SM yyy and it works for me". Does the Mac have some simple editor (it would be "vi" under Linux) where you can change a couple of characters and rewrite. That would confirm that you are allowed to write to that file. -- spammus ergo sum ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

That is why I said "Pretend to edit", Word is capable of totally screwing things up and the aim was just to see if you had the rights to edit it. I'd have done it with something which restricts itself to doing what you tell it to. If it is not html any more then Seamonkey will probably not even be able to open it any more. The original problem is looking more like a Mac-OS:Seamonkey problem and I have never used that platform. -- spammus ergo sum ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
