Micros~1's firewall is crap.
It doesn't filter OUTBOUND traffic
--ignoring the main reason to have a SOFTWARE firewall.

Get the **OLDEST** versaion of the ZA firewall.

How long have you been using ZA Suite AND AVG together? I've never known
anyone to use more than one AV security program without problems. Have you
considered dropping AVG to see what happens? Or install another firewall to
work with AVG and disable ZA Suite? bj

I really have no idea, but if it were me, I'd go with only ONE vendor, when
using
a "suite". I haven't used either one in a long time... and never together. I
prefer separate programs for AV and FW, because of difficulties I had in the
past.

Dropping AVG seems like it could be risky as I am unable to update ZA on my
machine...always get an error message when I try, that's been a problem for

You could use the Windows firewall with AVG's AV, to see if we're on the right
track that there's a conflict or problem with ZA. Windows FW won't block
outgoing traffic, but it'll do for a test. :) Some people prefer Windows FW,
or simply never change what their PC came with.

I did previously have AVG's entire suite trial installed, but the firewall

I'll keep looking now that I know what version you have.

Not that I know of, we just need to get one set of security programs working for
you, before we can find if there is a SeaMonkey conflict.

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with AVG at all anymore, and don't use Firefox so
I'm no help at all with this. I think the key is getting your security programs
to work correctly, before we can identify any problems with these Mozilla based
programs.

It seems to me disabling the ZA suite completely for now, and seeing what
results you get with AVG and the Windows firewall enabled, should be the next
step.
What do you think?

I don't know what version of ZA Suite you are using, but if you google
about
your problems, you will see others are having connection problems with a
"recent" version of ZA.

Anyway, when trying to access certain secure sites, I am very often
getting
the following message:

Address Not Found

(website address) could not be found. Please check the name and try
again.

The browser could not find the host server for the provided address.

* Did you make a mistake when typing the domain? (e.g. ww.mozilla.org
instead of www.mozilla.org) * Are you certain this domain address exists?
Its registration may have expired. * Are you unable to browse other
sites?
Check your network connection and DNS server settings. * Is your
computer or
network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can
interfere
with Web browsing.

Below this message is a "try again" box, which sometimes works when I
click
on it."

Unfortunately, that message doesn't help, because it's pretty generic
and covers
a multitude of connection problems.

I have upgraded to SM 2 and this problem has followed me!! This also
happened in SM 1.1.18. Actually, to be more accurate, it 's not just on
accessing these sites, it happens at any point during my "visit"I get
kicked out and have to go back in all the time. Since it is still
happening
in vs 2, does that help with figuring out the problem at all?

Try reducing your anti-virus programs, and see if we can get more
specific error
messages. :)
