Golly - don't tell my machine it doesn't work. I'm using it and it sure
does. Windows XP SP3 up-to-date with SeaMonkey 2.0.2

You'll have to make a CVS file and save it in one of your spread sheet
programs (MS Office / Corel Office / Open Office). But it works fine.

And back before Netscape I used unix commands since our pc was
interfaced to a SUN system. That was lot's of fun, NOT. And the
interface boards at that time all had built-in IP addresses assigned by
the government. Then came Procomm and Procomm+ before I used Netscape.

Anyhow, I'm more than happy with an integrated net program such as
SeaMonkey. I wasn't too happy with 2.0.0, but when I was able to get
the password problem solved (don't use one) and the auto-mail addressing
situation resolved I've been quite happy with SM. Only two minor issues
left to take care of (at least for my operation) are the inability to
delete addresses from mailing lists in the manner that existed in 1.x
and I really do miss the 'QUICKSTART' button. Please bring it back.

Took ten years for 16 users to be interested in it. Not a high priority
item. I NEVER used Chatzilla and only played with Composer.
All my HTML has been done from scratch in a text editing program.
I've already uninsatalled Chatzilla and won't miss Composer if it goes away.

Installed in SM 2.0.3 with no problems. Followed instructions.
There should be a small 3-ball icon in the bottom bar of the SM window.
when there is something on interest on the page the icon will be colored
and rotating. click on it or the box next to it. Works fine.

in that case, the answer to your question is "probably never".
SeaMonkey is a combination Mail/News program and Net Browser program sort of
rolled into one. That's the way it should stay. Not everyone wants a lot of
other bells and whistles. KISS. Add-ons, extensions, other themes, etc. are
great! If you want 'em - you got 'em. If you don't want 'em - you don't get
'em.

Same here. In the 1.x.x versions you had a choice "Open in Browser" or "Open
in (program)". It seems as though the choice went away in 2.x.x.

When opening in (program) a blank page was displayed, when opening in the
browser it appeared in the tab.

I've been using it for years. I like it also. Running 2.0.5pre with Win XP.
Only thing I've found lacking, at least for my use of the software, is the
limitations of TOOLS / COOKIE MANAGER / MANAGE COOKIES. As a "manager" it
leaves a lot to be desired.

Did you read the "Important Notice" on the Coral Web page?

** IMPORTANT NOTICE **
1. This version is incompatible with the old IE Tab. You need to uninstall IE
Tab before installing Coral IE Tab. Firefox will get unexpected result if both
of them are enabled.
2. If you get a "invalid hash" error while installing from Mozilla site, it is
NOT a bug of Coral IE Tab, but a bug of Mozilla site itself. You can go to my
project home page to finish installation, or, you can just wait a few hours
for Mozilla to fix their problem.

I have Foxit Reader 2.3 installed as the program to use for pdf files.
I have removed Adobe Reader since Foxit suits all my purposes better and
is faster. No problem on 1.1.14 or previous versions.

Are you sure you configured the helper application preference properly?
Correct location for Foxit? Correct extension? Left the 'plug-in
finder service' box unchecked? Closed and then re-opened SM after the
changes?

Hmm, I usually read the subject line to determine if I would be

Since I'm using Avast 4.8 SM 1.1.14 and Windows 5.1 (XP-Pro) Service
Pack 3 also and having none of the above programs, I would look
elsewhere for a solution. It's not a Avast or SeaMonkey problem.

Foxit Reader Problem

2009-02-03 Thread BeeNeR
Windows XP-Pro Up-to-date
SeaMonkey 1.1.14
Foxit Reader 3.0 Build 1301

Foxit Reader is installed as default pdf reader.
Helper application for Navigator is 'open these files using the default
application"

When trying to open a link to a .pdf file in Navigator the error message
"Foxit Reader OCX.ocx failed to load" is displayed.

Same operation using IE or "IE Tab" works.

Changing helper application to the c:\program files\foxit software\foxit
reader\foxit reader.exe path yields the same results.

Un-installing and re-installing FoxitReader does not help.

Anyone with ideas?

Problem solved. Solution is to start FoxitReader
2. Click on "Help"
3. Click on "Check for Updates Now"
4. Choose the "FireFox Update" (Add)
5. Install

Validates OK with W3C as "HTML 4.01 Strict". Get a "FAIL" with
53/100 score using SM 1.1.14. And looks really screwed up in IE
7.0.0730.11. Don't know whether IE 'FAIL's or what the score is.

SM 1.1.15pre Bug?

2009-02-22 Thread BeeNeR
Using SM 1.1.15pre 20090221

When digitly signing or encrypting e-mail, SM does NOT ask for a
password as it did in the past. It DOES ask for one when reading an
encrypted e-mail.

SM used to ask for a password on the first usage of signing or
encrypting during a session.
