Re: Windows Live Mail

2015-03-23 Thread Pamela Dominguez via Talk
I have not know of any accessability problems with windows live mail. I
have been using it since 2011 through several upgrades of window eyes. My
only problem was learning it, and dealing with the ribbon. So, I don't know
how you found it inaccessible. Pam.

Hi,
I just tried and it worked for me.
Remember when using insert-s you are in a standard list, so you could use first

Can someone using win 8.1 let me know when in the sys tray VIA insert if
insert 4 5 6 work correctly? I was trying to see when the last time my anti
virus data base was updated and I couldn't mouse around the way I can on my
system running Vista. insert 5 current word, insert 4 previous, and 6 next
word. The same thing moving letter by letter with 4 5 6, works correctly
using Vista, but not using Win 8.1.

Re: Windows Live Mail

2015-03-23 Thread Chris via Talk
I have also been using it since 2011 and considered it very accessible,
though with a number of quirks and annoyances. The release of 9.1 fixed all
of the things that bothered me, though since I haven't done a lot of changes
to settings or other more involved actions beyond basic use, there might be
some quirks I haven't discovered. but given the improvements made in other
areas, I think it unlikely that any major issues have popped up since WE 9.1
came out.

Chris

Please help with podcasts

2015-03-23 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland via Talk
Guys,

Recently, on our web site, we have implemented the ability for users to not
only communicate with one another via a social media like platform, but we've
also implemented the ability for you, the user, to submit podcast recording
material to us to include in our soon-to-be podcast.

The point is, firstly, no! This isn't a plug for the web site. All that I'm
doing is trying to determine anyone who might be interested in contributing
some podcast material for our web site to help us out. Being this list is
mainly about Window-Eyes, I'd like to get some content put together about it in
combination with other applications. It doesn't *have!* to be Window-Eyes
related, although that certainly is one topic that I'd like to definitely cover
in the long run. No, I am absolutely not! trying to compete with the training
webinars found on the AI Squared web site. I still consider that site to be a
vital resource. I'm only stating that the option is now open on our web site
as well in addition to that.

If you'd like to help out, then go ahead and record the podcast episode, and
upload it by going to:

http://www.clgproductions.net

Then, once there, click on the link that says, "Submit a podcast."

>From this page, just follow the instructions, upload the file, and I'll then
>be in touch with you shortly.

Thanks for your consideration.

Chris.

PC sounds and Voices use different outputs

2015-03-23 Thread Rick Blair via Talk
I just hooked my laptop up to my TV using a display port to HDMI adapter.
The sounds made by the PC (power up sound, dings, etc.) all come from the
speakers on my TV but some voices still use the PC speaker while others come
through the TV speakers.

Is there a way to change which output the voices are routed to so that I can
make all voices use the TV speakers?

Hi: I looked around but couldn't find where to set the formatting of
incoming and outgoing mail items.

In Windows 8.1 and the most recent Outlook how do I get there - is there
some hot keys or where would the Outlook message settings be found?

RE: PC sounds and Voices use different outputs

2015-03-23 Thread Chris Grabowski via Talk
Hi,

Go to the devices/synthesizers item in the settings tree of the Window-eyes
control panel.
Tab to the synthesizer list. If you continue to tab you should find a list of
sound cards.
See if it is set to default.
This should work in most situations. You can try selecting other cards in the
list.

Are the voices that are not carrying over to the TV SAPI voices?
Thanks,
Chris

I just hooked my laptop up to my TV using a display port to HDMI adapter.
The sounds made by the PC (power up sound, dings, etc.) all come from the
speakers on my TV but some voices still use the PC speaker while others come
through the TV speakers.

Is there a way to change which output the voices are routed to so that I can
make all voices use the TV speakers?

Hello everyone,
My local council is planning on migrating to Window-Eyes for schools,
and I will be training them in how to use it. However, I have a
question. They will be using the Microsoft Office offer, and because
that does not come with eloquence or any other speech synthesizer except
ESpeak, they will need to buy Eloquence separately. If the schools are
using Window-Eyes on multiple computers, will they get a serial number
for each computer, and if so, do they have to buy eloquence for each
computer that Window-Eyes is on, or is it possible for academic
institutions to get one serial number for all their computers that have
office under this offer?

I'm tickled pink; is it really true that folks posting their addresses on
the list don't know how to copy and paste the sender's address into the TO
field and send directly to the addressee? Come on people, it's not that
hard to obtain the address of a sender and you don't need a special
Window-Eyes keystroke for that purpose. Windows already makes this
possible. So, please, do the right thing and stop posting your addresses

This would have been the default behavior on the correctly configured
gw-info list. Since the old list's reply went only to the original
sender the replies to Roger would have gone just to him. Now that this
list's reply goes to the whole list we get messages that probably aren't
meant for everyone. GW had the configuration right while AI does not in
my opinion. The replying user now has to remove the list's address from
the to field in order to reply only to the original sender.

Hello Mr. Commerford:

You wrote in part:

"The replying user now has to remove the list's address from the to field in

Unless there are dexterity issues, it's not that hard to copy and paste in
the relevant field for purposes of replying to the sender. I think I like
the current configuration far better than what was in vogue. With the old
system, I had to do the same thing when I wanted to reply directly to the
list. I think that people are replying to a sent message at the spur of the
moment without thinking about what they are doing. It's ok when a reply is
general, but not so kosher otherwise methinks!
