RE: Thunderbird filter construction problem
Hi, I believe the keystroke to pull down a combo box in the filter creation wizard used to be Alt-DownArrow, and, also, I recall that, if the keystroke didn't work, you had to press spacebar on the control in order to get the darn thing to drop down. Re: blank page for Internet
Under IE's Tools menu itemsget down to Internet options (or something like this) and set your home site to: About:Blank but don't recall whether caps are needed for the 2 words. This is 1980s architecture. By setting this one avoids downloading all of the stuff from a web site each time one initiates IE. Re: Any ideas on how to get WE for Office out of demo mode anybody
Hi Larry: Did you check which synthe you are using? If it is a licensed one like Eloquence, it will be in demo mode unless you have license for that synth. Your best bet is to switch to Espeak and then try Window-eyes. If it is no longer in demo mode, then you can look for one that sounds better. Actually, I am runnning espeak as I speak, (smile), and I have gotten used to it. I'm the one who had the original issue, so I thought that I should clarify that I am using Eloquence, and my use of that synth wasn't effected at all. And I'm like you, although the ms voice, the more human sounding one, really doesn't bother me a great deal, but its like of responsiveness is really a nuisance. OK, I guess the subject line pretty much says it all. But then again, maybe a bit of explanation is in order after all. Being a Dell owner, I hope I didn't goof by upgrading to Windows 10 without going first to the Dell Support page, and downloading the upgrade through them instead. It seems that none of my Dell stuff is working as it should, that is if it exists at all. I am looking for some new drivers for my Realtek sound card, because it seems to have changed in some way, and none of the settings that I can find give me any relief. Experiencing a bit of distortion at high volume that I've never had before. Anyway, I am now visiting the Dell support page hoping to find something, but I am running across lots of clickable links, and simply pressing enter on them gives me no indication that anything has happens in response. So, how do I make use of them? And while I'm at it, does anybody have any ideas as to how to make this card sound the way it should? or if I may put it more precisely, at least sound the way it did before, with all its irritating subtleties? I have to keep the volume on the card set a lot lower in order to keep distortion to a minimum using WE, just to keep things on topic. Not to mention, this extra bass is not making me very happy. Who knows, I may have to get serious about removing my Audigy from my old computer and installing it in the dell. Anyway, as most of us know, rarely do upgrades go as smoothly as they should, and this one does have a few wrinkles for sure. Re: Clickable links, what do they do, and how do you access them?
As Michael said, clickables open content on the same page. And there is usually no indication that anything was done. So you have to navigate the page to find the new information. Usually it's below where you were. The problem with your booming soundcard is the audio enhancements, which should be turned off for better performance anyway. Control panel, Sound, Playback device, Properties, Advanced. Check disable all enhancements or whatever it's called. Thunderbird filter construction problem
I have the same issue on a Windows 7 Asus laptop and a Windows 10 HP desktop. On each of these machines, I am running Window-eyes 9.4. I know that this can or previously could be done as I have done it previously although not recently. I am constructing a filter in the latest version of Thunderbird which will monitor incoming email messages so as to move them into specified folders. The process goes fine until I get to the step where I am asked to select the folder into which I want the messages to be moved. I can see the list of email accounts from which to choose. But if I left click on any of them, I am unceremoniously kicked back to the message list. Just what am I missing? I know with absolute certainty that this could be done in previous versions of Window-eyes after which I could select using the same method the folder into which I wanted the messages to be moved. So Tom or other Thunderbird users, please tell me the secret as I frankly don't remember it. Thanks in advance for assistance. Re: Any ideas on how to get WE for Office out of demo mode anybody
Lloyd, just to let you know. I managed to fix the problem by going to the WE help menu, and there I ran across the licensing feature, and after trying to renew offline, tried the online option, which proved to be both the logical and right choice, so now all is well, at least in that department. Thanks for your suggestions though. Larry On 4/17/2016 8:29 PM, Lloyd Rasmussen via Talk wrote: In addition to E-Speak, just as with NVDA, you could run the Windows Server Speech Platform.
