Re: SV: JAWS Mobile?

2018-08-14 Thread ratshtron via Talk
there has never ever been available a portable
version of jaws. back when the everlock method
was used, you could place a key on an external
hard drive and were able to run jaws using the
key on that drive if connected to the system and
that's the closest jaws ever got to being
portable, lol! another way was to have the
authorization floppy disk inserted in to a floppy
drive and it be present when jaws was executed.

Re: USB Bluetooth Transmitter

you can purchase a usb sound adapter and then connect a wireless
headset system to that. That's what I have so I can route my screen
reader output to that sound adapter for speech only and have all
other window sounds coming out the on-board sound adapter.

There was a discussion a while ago about using a USB Bluetooth

anyone use a USB Bluetooth adapter with WE?

I am looking to replace the wired headset I use at work for a

Plantronics over the ear with my IPhone and it works great with 11

Any input will be greatfully accepted.

One thing some people may have forgotten or were not on board with WE
early enough was thay they also charged extra for pro versions of
Window-Eyes. It seems to me that it was at least $100 more than the
standard version because I did not have pro and a friend did. When the
time came that I needed pro, I did have to find the money to do so. The
difference between the two companies is that all upgrades cost the same
for WE and JFW charges more for the pro version upgrades.

Re: Alternative for Insert as Awkward Jaws Modifier Key?

2017-05-22 Thread ratshtron via Talk
hmmm, i always use numpad insert plus numpad8 for jawskey plus
downarrow with no trouble at all. numpad 4 is left arrow, numpad2 is
uparrow, and numpad6 is right arrow.

Legend has it that on Monday 5/22/2017 04:09 PM, Ed Culpepper via Talk said:

Greeting WE Migrants -
I am learning Jaws navigational keystrokes as I migrate from beloved WE to
Jaws. Using the insert key as a primary Jaws modifier key is very awkward
for me. On my keyboard the insert key is the top left key on the so-called
"6-pack" of keys located just above the arrow keys. The Jaws command to
begin "Say All" (like WE "Read to End") is Insert-down arrow. That requires
an awkward contortion of my right hand or an inconvenient reach with my left
hand for the insert key as I press the down arrow with my right hand. Other
navigational commands use the insert key as the modifier with keys that are
usually typed with fingers on the right hand. I am finding these keystroke
combinations to be frustrating.
Obviously Jaws users have been using this illogical keystroke combination
for years. I must be missing something about how to do so efficiently. I
have read about altering navigational keystrokes in Jaws, but I don't want
to have to redesign the whole set of them. Bottom line is that I have a
couple of questions:
1. Is there some alternative to the insert key as a primary modifier key for
navigational keystrokes in Jaws? The WE Control-Alt combination with a
single letter key was much more ergonomically efficient. To longtime Jaws
users: I am looking to you for help or encouragement for the insert key
awkwardness - any help?
2. Can I reprogram my computer or Windows 10 to recognize some key of my
choosing to function as an additional insert key? For example, could I
sacrifice the Control key on the left side of my keyboard to become an
insert key to use as a modifier with keys typically typed with my right
hand?
I hope that I am not obsessing over what turns out with experience
manipulating Jaws to be simply a curious quirk for a new user. Any help will
be appreciated.
Many thanks -
Ed Culpepper

Re: Saving a copy of Window Eyes

2017-05-20 Thread ratshtron via Talk
that's exactly correct with the exception of the free window-eyes
that runs with office 2010 and above. I cannot seem to be able to
stop it from starting up when windows starts for some reason, lol! so
i have to stop jaws from starting at windows startup and then switch.

Legend has it that on Friday 5/19/2017 10:14 PM, Butch Bussen via Talk said:

Why would you want to uninstall window-eyes? Unless you're pressed

run at startup. Personally, I will continue to run window-eyes as
long as it does what I need it to do. I'll take their free upgrade
just so I have it, but window-eyes development may be gone, but the
product still lives and works well.

well, you can add them, but they come back from time-to-time, but once you
add them, you do not have to click on yes and if you have to add one for
outgoing mail, the mail will not go out till you do. to add them, you do the
following:

1: press alt plus t for tools then p for personalities
2: arrow to the account that is receiving the notice, if only one account,
press alt plus enter on domanant otherwise alt plus enter at the selected
account
3: once there, you are on the outgoing mail properties, shift tab 6 times to
secure socket when sending ssl info button and press enter if incoming mail,
first press ctrl plus tab to move to the incoming mail properties then do
the first part of the step
4: shift tab to certificate manager button and press enter

8: tab to the ok button and press enter and then tab to the ok button once

you may have to close all windows with ctrl+w and then open the inbox with

1. In your emailer on your PC, go to the TO: field.

2. In that field, you would type:

1234567...@txt.att.net

where the numbers above you'd replace with the actual phone number to

here you go:

This site aims to be the most complete and up to
date list of email addresses that can be used to
send text messages to phones. Hence email text messages
or email-to-sms. This is the most simple way of
sending text messages from the internet or from
your computer to phones. These email addresses essentially
act as a direct link to a carriers SMS gateway.
Most other lists of carrier's text messaging
email addresses are out of date and obsolete in 2007. The
biggest change being Cingular consolidating
everything to a new ATT email address for their
wireless subscribers. This list can be used to help developers
develop free text messaging solutions and
services. The list includes US, Canadian and
international mobile carriers for worldwide texting.

hmmm, just installed becky and cannot figure out how to read any of

o.k. but that's where i get lost. cannot read the messages.

Hi, Roger. Am using Becky now, but it doesn't always play nice with my

possibly due to the SSL certificates. However, it seems to be doing the
trick now. Paid for a license a while back, then ran into
problems.--Matt.

Re: Eudora Certificate

2015-12-15 Thread ratshtron via Talk

once you answer yes, you must do the following:

1: press alt+t then o for options
2: press home then arrow once to checking mail
3: shift tab four times to the secure sockets
when receiving ssl button and press enter

4: shift tab three times to certificate information button and press enter
5: right arrow till nothing is heard then tab
nine times to add to trusted button and press the spacebar
6: using your mouse cursor, go to the bottom of
the screen and locate the done button and left
click to activate the done button
7: tab three times to ok and press enter. now tab
once more to the final o.k. button and press
enter. you are done. if this pops up again, just
follow the steps above again. if you get this
problem when sending a message and eudora will
not send the message, then you have have to move
to the sending mail catagory and do the same. if
you get an error that you haven't sent mail. . .
then your error is generated by the checking mail catagory. hope this helps.

Re: Problems with Eudora

2015-12-15 Thread ratshtron via Talk
you have to add the certificate to the trusted certificates by doing
the following:

as i mentioned in a previous message, if you have unsent messages in
your out box, you must follow the same instructions as with checking
mail only you have to do it with the sending mail catagory under
tools and optins. should be the fourth catagory. checking mail is the
second and sending is the fourth.

1: press alt+t for tools then o for options
2: press the home key then arrow down three times to sending mail
3: shift tab four times and press enter
4: shift tab three times and press enter
5: right arrow till nothing is spoken when pressing the right arrow
6: now tab 9 times to add to trusted button and press enter
7: now, using the mouse cursor if window-eyes or the jaws cursor if
jaws and locate the done button and do a left mouse click there. tab
three times to the ok button and press enter and once more tab once
to the next o.k. button and press enter. this should fix the problem.
if not, do the above but with the checking mail catagory.

think I'm going to go to Windows 10 sooner or later so maybe I just need to
upgrade and be done with it. I am not sure how to tell you to remove the

I did find the .ini file on my thumbb drive. It wasn't marked .ini,
that's why I couldn't find it. It was just called Eudora but it has
all the settings in it so I'm sure that's it. I put it in my current
Eudora but it still didn't work. All it did was to bring back that
message about certificates. Since I'm not getting anywhere I thik I
will uninstall this Eudora and see if I can run it from my thumb
drive like I could on my windows 7. If that doesn't work I will be
thinking that it might be in whe windows 10 somehow. If that
doesn't I'll try one more clean install and see if I can get it
going. If that doesn't work I think I will give it up and try
another program or try to learn more about Thunderbird and use it
although I don't like it at this point. So that's the latest in the

hmmm, that would work with one execption, their user name and
password would be encryped in to the eudora.ini file.

Budd, here is an idea.
Have somebody with Eudora working on Windows 10 send you the
Eudora.ini file. Then you can put that file into your system in
place of your present .ini file. the .ini file contains all of the
Eudora settings.

Re: sorry more eudora

2015-10-10 Thread ratshtron via Talk

i sent this out earlier to someone on another list:

you have to do the following:
1 press alt plus for tools
2: press the home key to move to the first catagory
3: arrow right once to checking mail
4: shift tab 4 times to secure sockets when receiving last ssl button
and press enter

5: shift tab 3 times to certificate information manager button and press enter
6: now, start pressing the right arrow till you do not hear any more changes
7: tab 9 times to add certificate button and press enter..
8: now, use your mouse cursor to find the done button near the bottom
right of the screen and do a left mouse click
9: tab to the ok button and press enter and then tab again to the ok
button and press enter, you are done. everytime this happens when
receiving mail you must do these steps. if you receive the same type
of message, when sending a message, then you must move to the sending
mail catagory and do the same steps.

Re: still eudora questions

2015-10-10 Thread ratshtron via Talk
all you need to do is use alternate ports required in both the
checking mail and sending mail catagories.

be sure to also check all authentication.

Hi Guys again. Still tryig to setup Eudora. I did get the settings
from AT&T which I have installed, all except for a couple port
numbers they gave me. I can't find any place where they would go. I
don't see anything about ports. Any clues? Thanks. I know you all
will be glad when I get this thing going.
