RE: Accessible application to play internet radio
Hi Chris You are right. That's what I tried to explain to Pamela. Indeed, the application rocks. By the way, are you aware whether tunein.com works like tapin radio, Chris? I'll be glad to understand it better. I see it being a web-based service unlike tapin radio. Am I right? Does it have stand-alone version, do you know? I'll be glad if you could help. Hello Butch, The $12 payment is to purchase the version that has all of the features active. However, I use the Free version, and I record with it all the time. To any others using this program, do you get very good quality sound, or do you get sound that seem a bit lacking in depth, warmth, and fullness. what I get is alright for speech, but even then, I would prefer a richer sound. Hi Bill I know of tunein.com and have used it for sometime now, but it is a web-based service. I prefer something that is independent. Huh? How is tapin radio not web based? I prefer something that is independent. I have just recently been introduced to tapin radio and it seems to be doing some of what I want. Well it has its lows and ups. But thank you for your advice. On 4/14/15, Christopher-Mark Gilland via Talk talk@lists.window-eyes.com wrote: Granted, I really don't know what this has to do with Window-Eyes, seeing that you very specifically said you're using NVDA and JAWS, not W E, and as far as I knew, this list primarily was designed for W E. That said, I'm not about to play moderator. If anything, I know something that you could use that works great! Try Tapin Radio. Yes, it works great with W E as well, for those who're wonderring. Re: Accessible application to play Internet radio
I use the Tappen Radio program, that someone else has already mentioned. it works well enough. Sometimes the quality of sound seems a bit lacking, but it does work, and it is good enough. I use it to record Sports if I am going to be away from the Computer. It works great for that. I can also choose from what seems like a Zillion Radio Stations from all over the world and all kinds of styles. As far as this program playing just strictly Internet Radio stations, I would think it would, but then again, all I use it for is recording from regular radio stations that Stream their programing over the Internet. If you have the Stations URL, you can type this in and it should go there and play what they are broadcasting.
