Thank you, Steve, Trish -Original Message- From: Steve Jacobson via Talk Sent: Wednesday, January 03, 2018 2:38 PM To: 'Window-Eyes Discussion List' Cc: Steve Jacobson Subject: RE: Version Question Pat, Although you would probably know if the upgrade worked, it is worth noting that the version number shown probably won't clearly say "version 10". In my case, it says "Version 1703." However, the dialog box that I get does refer to Windows 10 in the text portion. If you did try to install it before, you might be able to start the install again without a charge since some of the components are probably already downloaded. One of the most common reasons for an upgrade not to work is that Windows detected software that needs to be uninstalled first. This often includes old versions of screen readers like JAWS and Window-eyes. Whether you could restart the upgrade without a charge probably depends upon how far you got when you tried it last time. You might be able to get the Microsoft Disability Answer Desk to help you sort this out at 800-936-5900 Or go to their website at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accessibility/disability-answer-desk where you can launch a chat session. RE: Version Question
Pat, Although you would probably know if the upgrade worked, it is worth noting that the version number shown probably won't clearly say "version 10".
