Thanks to Chris at WinEyes my WE 9.2 and IE11 no longer crash while using the

Chris had me:
1. remove outdated apps such as one forcibly closing WE and a Homer (or
something like this) which that app closing WE required.
2. Updating all set files via the WE control panelGreat advice!

Subject: Window Eyes 9.2 locks up on this page

https://popinabox.co.uk/

All of the rest of the page that I have tried has worked, but if you click
on the link “Pop Tracker” and then click on the link “Wishlist”, Window Eyes
will lock up and often requires multiple attempts to shut it down and
restart before speech will return. Usually, if I can get the instance of IE
with the Wishlist in it to close, I can get Window Eyes to start up again.
All of this is on a Windows 7 64-bit system using IE 11 and Window Eyes 9.2.
Any help solving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi,
Edge is not accessible. You can either use Internet Explorer, Firefox or
Chrome to get an accessible web browser on Windows 10.

I just tried directory Opus and unless I'm missing a configuration setting,
nothing reads. Menus or the file lists.

I do know Xplorer2 works quite well with Window-eyes under Windows 7/8/10.

Hi Lynn,

I thought I had send those instructions to the list, but I can't find a
copy, so here they are:

* Open a Windows explorer window.
* tab to the organize button.
* press spacebar, which should bring up a context menu.
* arrow down to the layout submenu and open it up with the right arrow.
* arrow down until you find the preview pane and make sure it is not
checked; if it is checked, press enter on it to remove the checkmark;
otherwise press escape.

Hth,

Chip

Try moving the mouse pointer down to an empty corner of the window to see if it

This is correct. You'd need to upgrade to 9.0/9.1, that is what the $175 does.

 Hi Reeva,

 This is an excellent question.

In 2015, we will be releasing a product called ZoomText Fusion. This
product will combine the power of ZoomText and Window-Eyes in a single
 product.

ZoomText Fusion is specifically designed for people who have
progressive eye conditions or are in transition from low vision to
blindness. ZoomText Fusion includes all of the power of ZoomText
Magnifier, ZoomText Magnifier/Reader, as well as complete and full
screen reading into one, single, integrated product.

 More info coming soon. smile

Hi Tom,

I am pretty sure the mouse pointer was sitting on top of text which the read
tooltip feature of WE was causing it to read again and again. When this
happens to me I just move the mouse pointer down to some empty corner of the
window and it stops.

I did try turning off the tooltip feature (thinking I didn't really need it),
but you do; many programs use it to notify you of an update or something you
need to do, so moving the mouse pointer once in a while is better.

If a paid upgrade, just how much does it cost?

ZoomText Fusion includes all of the power of ZoomText Magnifier,

Re: Window-Eyes 9.2 still crashing With Windows Explorer

2015-07-28 Thread Chris Skarstad via Talk
ok, so it's not just me! Thank you! I don't suppose that actually
helps, but yes, this is definitely happening to me too. I'm running
Windows 7 64-bit, if that helps. The frustrating part is it seems to
happen for no rhyme or reason. I can't find a pattern for it so I can
reliably tell people when the problem happens. It seems very random,
which makes the problem that much harder to fix. If I do find a pattern
for when it happens i'll gladly post a more definiative bug report with
examples of when it happens, etc.

Re: Window-Eyes 9.2 is Now Available!

2015-07-27 Thread Chris Skarstad via Talk

Hi

You don't need to go that route to upgrade, simply visit
http://www.gwmicro.com/upgrade, enter your serial number and it'll
generate an upgrade. I bet a lot of people are doing this now, so
patience is a virtue. I tried upgrading directly from within
window-eyes by going to the help menu, and then check for updates, and
after a couple minutes I received an error message saying that the
download wasn't successful and to try again in a few minutes. It's
probably because everyone's hammering the servers to get the upgrade.
I'll hang out for a few and try it again in a bit.

Bob,

Glad to hear you are enjoying the responsiveness. As for Edge,
Microsoft just dropped the ball on this regarding accessibility. No

will ultimately get resolved but until then, Internet Explorer or
Firefox or Chrome can be used.

Yes, Window-Eyes 9.2 is a recommended upgrade for all of our customers even if
you aren't using Windows 10. The upgrade includes new features and improvements
that are not specific to Windows 10. You can read about all of the changes in
the Window-Eyes 9.2 Read Me:
http://www.gwmicro.com/Window-Eyes/Version_History/index.php?details=9.2.0.0.
As far as how easy it is to roll back to 9.1, it would require that you
uninstall Window-Eyes completely and then reinstall 9.1. These steps are easy
for some to perform but more difficult for others.

Marc

RE: Window-eyes 9.2 is now available

2015-07-27 Thread Jeremy Curry via Talk
Hi Reeva,

This is an excellent question.

In 2015, we will be releasing a product called ZoomText Fusion. This product
will combine the power of ZoomText and Window-Eyes in a single product.

ZoomText Fusion is specifically designed for people who have progressive eye
conditions or are in transition from low vision to blindness. ZoomText Fusion
includes all of the power of ZoomText Magnifier, ZoomText Magnifier/Reader, as
well as complete and full screen reading into one, single, integrated product.

More info coming soon. smile

I think it is going to be similar to Dolphin Computer Access's product

are selling computers which have Jaws pre-installed with no magnifier.

RE: Window-eyes 9.2 under Windows 10 Insider Preview

2015-07-27 Thread gary melconian via Talk
I want to know how easy will it be ot install the upgrade of windows 10 when
its availableot us on Wednesday once we have window eyes 9.2 installed. Will
it required sighted assistance ot install or can we get by on our own. These
are my concerns about the upgrade as I did not have hta great success when I
did the Windows 8.1 update and ths what has me concerned about this one as
well.

It's been a while since I've used Window-eyes and so far, I am beyond
impressed. The responsiveness is snappy whether using IE, Thunderbird, or
Outlook 365.
Any idea as to why Edge wasn't accessible from the getgo?

Hi Reeva,

This is an excellent question.

In 2015, we will be releasing a product called ZoomText Fusion. This
product will combine the power of ZoomText and Window-Eyes in a single
product.

ZoomText Fusion is specifically designed for people who have progressive eye
conditions or are in transition from low vision to blindness. ZoomText
Fusion includes all of the power of ZoomText Magnifier, ZoomText
Magnifier/Reader, as well as complete and full screen reading into one,
single, integrated product.

More info coming soon. smile
