two questions

2016-10-28 Thread Kim Lingo via Talk
A few days ago, there was a flurry of questions and comments about the future
of Window-Eyes. I have two questions. First, does anyone know if there is one
or more persons monitoring this discussion list who still had something to do
with the development of Window-eyes, or are we all on our own as users?

Second, does anyone have a general idea about how long this screen reader would
be viable to use with email, the Internet, and other software applications? I
realize an exact prediction can’t be made, but I’m just wondering in general if
anyone can make an educated guess.
I’m using Windo-eyes 9.5.3.

Make sure you are spelling your search term correctly. If not, you wil be

once I type the term in correctly, I get what I am seeking.

Just open the Window-Eyes control panel, Alt-A Apps, and arrow or hit

RE: Two Questions

2015-12-31 Thread Rod Hutton via Talk
Hi Dave,

I hung onto your email since I wanted to ponder your question about storing
phone numbers.
You say you have ten pages, but do you mean ten pages of paper, meaning
you're low vision, or are these in MS Word?
Personally, I've turned to my IPhone 5S for storing names and phone numbers
since it is excellent for this.
I still use Notepad on my PC with just a long list of every number I typed
in, line after line, over the past twenty years.
Frankly, this single text file is still my most reliable and handy way to
store everything about someone, that is, address, phone number, directions
on how to get to their house, notes about them, and searching is as easy as
using Control-F to bring up the search dialog, filling it out and performing
the search.
Please write back and we can chew it some more.

Rod, from Toronto, Canada

Subject: Two Questions

Hello,

Using 9.3, Win 7. And I can not type in the Search Field on Ebay.

It seems that Ebay may have changed their web site just a touch, and now
I am having troubles finding an Edit Line to type in what I am searching
for.

Anyone have a solution?

Second question-

I have 10 pages of Phone numbers, and to find someone on this list is
getting harder and harder as it grows. Anyone able to suggest an
accessible program where I might store names and phone numbers, that
canbe easily looked up?

Thanks for any reply,

Dave

if you move to the top of the screen then turn browse mode off you can get to
the search box. but leave browse mode off and type in your search.

sometimes the search box can be found with browse mode on , sometimes not.
sometimes if you press f5 to reload the screen, sometimes insert backslash to
reload the browse mode buffer.

its a crapshoot.

OK, so its messed up, but if you have browse mode on, go till you hear
enter search keywords, turn browse mode off manually and just start
typing, that seems to work all the time.

Hope that helps.
