Re: web vissum work around
Thanks Mark It turns out someone had unchecked that box, since they thought it would "help". If anyone else finds themselves in this position, since W-E will crash as soon as you try to get into about:config, you'll need to close W-E, get yourself into "about:config" and get some eyes to make sure you've found "config warning", make it true again, get out of there, and restart W-E. Having done that, the turn autoload and browse mode off procedure works as you said it would. Nor on this one Mark. I just tried it and, after W-E stopped talking, my sighted wife and I managed to shut down Firefox from Task Manager, and W-E came up, but not working properly - (win+d would not get me the desktop). After closing W-e and restarting it, I'm now back to normal but, without sighted support, the rest is silence! Windows7-64 W-E9.3.1 latest Firefox. Well, that is what I get for making a suggestion without testing it out first. I am also experiencing the Firefox hang when opening the about:config page regardless if Browse Mode is on or off. RE: web vissum work around
Well, I stand corrected. Chris from our support team helped clarify that you can use the about:config screen in Firefox with Window-Eyes if you do two things before activating the I'll be careful I promise button: 1. Disable auto loading of Browse Mode (Insert-A is the default hotkey for toggling this feature on and off) Note: don't forget to turn auto load back on when you are done 2. Manually turn off Browse Mode (Control-Shift-A) I just tested this out and it worked great under Windows 10 and Firefox 43.0.1. We do have this issue logged in our bug tracking system but this work around can be used until it is fixed.
