[OSM-talk] [wiki] convention pour categorie Cadastre

2011-07-09 Thread Guilhem Bonnefille
Bonjour,

Je viens de remarquer qu'il existe deux catégories dans le wiki pour
le cadastre :
- Cadastre
- Fr:Cadastre

Il me semble qu'il y en a une de trop. Laquelle garder ?

PS : en attendant, j'ai rajouter un lien de l'une vers l'autre.

[OSM-talk] [ANN] Viking 0.9.91 is out

2010-02-20 Thread Guilhem Bonnefille
Viking 0.9.91 was released in 2010-02-06.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/viking/files/viking/0.9.91/viking-0.9.91.tar.gz/download

Viking is a GPS data viewer and editor providing many features related
to Internet. It is able to display maps from many online sources. It
is also able to request online service to provide geocoding: finding
coordinates form textual description of a place. And many more great
things provided by many contributors.
http://viking.sf.net/

Why such announce on this list? Because viking try to integrate many
services from OSM.
It is able to display maps from many OpenStreetMap related projects.
The 0.9.91 version offers the ability to extend the list of supported
map sources with any "tile cache" oriented service. So, user can add
new OSM related map, even private (imagine a user hosting its own map
service).
For example, imagine you want to use OpenPisteMap project. Simply
create the file ~/.viking/maps.xml

   OpenPisteMap
   openpistemap.org
   /tiles/contours/%d/%d/%d.png
   100

Viking also offers the ability to upload GPS data directly: open a GPS
track, check it upon any map source, correct it and upload it.

0.9.91 brings the Nominatim service as geocoding source.

Happy download!

PS: 0.9.91 is sort of release candidate for 1.0. Some details can
change in near future.

Re: [OSM-talk] [tech/API] Accessing tags set by a user for traces

2008-09-03 Thread Guilhem Bonnefille
Thanks for the feedback.

Of course, I think it is not interesting to access ALL the tags.
So, here are two fresh ideas:
- just the tags of the uploader: personnaly, I try to use the same tags)
- just the tags already used on a boundingbox: personnally, the tags I
use are related to the place tagged (for example, name of town + name
of region + name of country)

The second option is possible because Viking is a desktop application,
so it knows bounding box *before* uploading. So, it can request the
tags just before upload.

Do you think it's possible?

I'm happy our work (we are many contributors) can help. Furthermore,
since 0.9.4, Viking is released for Windows too. Check
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=83870&package_id=110226&release_id=579434
But, only one guy does the Windows generation. And when problems are
detected, it's hard to solve them. So, if people are interested, any
help is welcome (skill=windows+gtk).

[OSM-talk] [tech/API] Accessing tags set by a user for traces

2008-08-28 Thread Guilhem Bonnefille
Hi,

I'm working on Viking[1], a GPS desktop application with OSM related features.

In order to assist user when uploading its traces to OSM, I wish to
contact OSM, retrieve the previously used tags, and propose these tags
to the user for the new trace.

Is there such API actually?

You're fully right: I never see it before. Perhaps because I'm looking
for "legend" keyword and not "Map key".

Thanks for pointing me at this info.

Looking at this area, I have a question: is it planned to add a legend
on the "View" tab?
The legend can be really simple, but it is needed now:
- what mean blue dotted line?
- what mean red dotted line?
- ...

[OSM-talk] Contours server (was: Re: ski pistes)

2008-03-17 Thread Guilhem Bonnefille
Contours layer presented by openpistemap is simply great. Does it
exist a server publishing only this layer?

I'm working on Viking, a desktop GPS data editor capable of rendering
data on top of image downloaded on line. Having a contours layer would
be usefull to prepare hicking.

Thanks in advance.

In my idea, offering a layer for GPS data allows really simple client
to display such info.

[OSM-talk] Raw GPS layer

2008-02-21 Thread Guilhem Bonnefille
Hi,

Is there any layer presenting ONLY raw GPS data?

Actually, we have Mapnik, Osmarender, Maplint, but what about a layer
with only raw GPS data. This could be usefull (at least for me) to
manage my own traces. Could be usefull to easily decide if a zone need
some GPS traces or not.

What difficulties to host a new layer?
Somewhere to host tiles?
I'm quite sure that [EMAIL PROTECTED] model can be enough to compute such tiles.
