[Talk-de] Webcam

2020-05-11 Thread Rainer Dorsch via Talk-de
Hallo,

https://kachelmannwetter.roundshot.com/sonnenbuehl/

?

Passen da nach https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/
Key:Surveillance und https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/
Tag:man_made%3Dsurveillance

man_made=surveillance
surveillance=webcam
contact:webcam=https://kachelmannwetter.roundshot.com/sonnenbuehl/

Allerdings klingt Proposed on: 2008-07-08 nicht gerade ermutigend :-/

Gruß
Rainer

[Talk-de] Broken Turn Relations in Schweiz, Österreich, Bayern und Baden-Württemberg

2013-05-01 Thread Rainer Dorsch
Hallo,

kaputte Turn Relations gefunden:

http://bokomoko.de/~rd/navit/broken_turn_relations_130501.log

generiert:

http://trac.navit-project.org/ticket/1076

[Talk-de] Navigation on osm data

2011-06-05 Thread Rainer Dorsch
Hello,

I am wondering if osm data contains information which helps rounting programs
like navit to announce before a crossing which lane to take, when there are
multiple lanes (e.g. one for turning left, one for straight or turning right).
Deriving that simply from the angles the streets meet at the crossing does not
work reliably

As an example see the bug report, I opened against navit:

http://trac.navit-project.org/ticket/870

Many thanks,
Rainer

[Talk-de] OT: Displaying Color Encoded Information in Track

2011-06-05 Thread Rainer Dorsch
Hello,

I would like to display color encoded information in a track. In my particular
case right now, I would like to record signal strength with my cellphone. The
easiest way to collect the data is for me a gps track and a table containing
time and signal strenght.

My end goal is to have the signal strength encoded in the color of the track
(similarly like josm may encode velocity in the color of the track).

Any input how to achieve this is welcome.

Thanks,
Rainer

[Talk-de] Brunnen Taggen

2010-07-04 Thread Rainer Dorsch
Hallo,

wie werden denn Brunnen wie dieser

http://lh5.ggpht.com/_0ex2IC3iI6g/Sd6N6kWsz6I/Cds/XKGwW15DGAU/2009-04-05+Siebenmühlental+Schönbuch+071.jpg

(es gibt noch viele mehr: http://www.seehagel.de/SB/brunnen.htm )

korrekt getagged?

Ich habe

natural=spring:
Water flowing out of the ground. May have a fountain build around

amenity=fountain:
A fountain for cultural / decorational / recreational purposes.

und auch

amenity=drinking_water:
For showing the location of a tap or other source of drinking water

gesehen.

Dann zum Thema Trinkwasser:
drinkable=yes/no/mineral

amenity=fountain

Rainer

What is your IP address? There is a chance that your IP might have been
blocked if you had been using a utility to bulk download tiles.

My IP address is dyanmically assigned from my network provider, so it changes.
Also Firefox is able to display the maps.

No problem here with konqueror 4.4.2

 and 4.3.2 working here
 which version Rainer?

That is surprising, I expected all 3.x versions to be broken.

I use 3.5.9.

Does anybody know if there is a way to get debug output from konqueror?

Also in the screenshot

http://bokomoko.de/~rd/osm.png

there is a black dot at the bottom right. Is that maybe the map, but for some
reason shrinked down to a dot?

Thanks,

Using Debian Lenny and Konqueror 3.5.9 too I see the same problem.

In the bottom right corner of the Konqueror window there is an icon of a
bug. If you click on that you get a dialog for JavaScript Errors. The error
 it displays is:

Error: http://www.openstreetmap.org/: RangeError: Exceeded maximum function
 call depth.

I normally use Iceweasel 3.0.6 to view the openstreetmap.org site, so I
 didn't notice this before.

Thanks for the reply. That might be the root cause of the problem.

Although I enabled in Konqueror javascirpt settings to report errors, I cannot
see the bug icon in konqueror though. Any thoughts why I do not see this
myself?

Thanks,

I like this idea of having country specific presets in the editors

It's way too late for that for tags like highway=track. Access rules are
already heavily country dependent (highway=trunk allowing pedestrians
and bicycles or not for example; access=destination implying that
cyclists and horse drivers always have access in some countries,
destination traffic or not). The same with for example default maximum
 speeds.

Tagging these default rules will be a nightmare if it's at some point
decided in country X to change the rules.

Good point. But I am wondering how often that happens.
How many of these rule changes do you remember in the past for your country
which would have affected osm tagging heavily?

 You don't know anymore
whether the tag is there because it was added as default from JOSM or
another editor, or because it was explicitly signed

The way some country specific tags could work is to translate a concept
from that country (e.g. an express road which may be something
completely different in different countries and would need other tags).

I am hesitant with different definitions/defaults in the meantime. I could
imaging that a map in the future allows beyond showing the rendered data to
let me see all tags on a way. If I travel into another country, it is a
nightmare to read just plain tags (not talking about editing).

Greetings,
Rainer

If the closest way to click (tlat/tlon for yournavigation) falls next to an
access=destination way, gosmore will assume that you have permission / will
obtain permission at the appropriate time.

So if the business park with the 2 entrances only allow visitors to enter
at the main entrance, I suggest some pragmatic tagging at the second
entrance : If visitors are allow to leave through it, tag it as oneway=true
with the way pointing outwards. If visitors are not allowed to leave
through it, tag it as either access=no or access=private (which is
 translated to access=no by gosmore).

So gosmore will not always produce the answer that the employees in the
park want, but they just run an extra query starting / ending just outside
 the second entrance.

I see, for the example business park, the access=destination tag makes a lot
of sense.

For tracks I never got a special permission in areas where I would need a map
or even routing. So doing routing over tracks would have been useless for me
for far...
For my personal usecase, my preference preference would be to have a tag which
tells motorcars are not allowed (motorcar=no ?) and gosmore would route me
closest to the clicked position on allowed ways and the rest by foot (or
optimize travelling time). Not sure what others see as their typical usecase
though

Thanks,
Rainer

A footway and a track (which is not allowed for cars) makes a huge difference

It's flawed because we so many unsurfaced way

 highway=track defaults to motorcar=no
 highway=unsurfaced defaults to motorcar=yes
 highway=byway defaults to motorcar=yes

Looking at

I did not find highway=unsurfaced

How does it differ from the surface tag in Map_Features?

surfacepaved /cobblestone /unpaved way
Apply to all types of highways. If the tag is not present, it is assumed
surface=paved, excepted for highway=footway. (sealed/unsealed outside UK).

For byway I have no preference, I assume there should be very few in Germany.

For track I am in favor of defaulting to motorcar=no, but let's wait what

: Let's say an office park has 2 gates but you're only allowed inside if
you work there or have an appointment. I'm intending to support 2 ways of
 tagging it :
 * Tag all the roads inside with access=destination.
 * Tag only the 2 entrances with access=destination. Some routing packages
may then refuse to route you to an untagged roads within the office park
(e.g. a cul-de-sac), but gosmore will get you there.

Do I have a way to tell gosmore that I have a permission or would it also
route me there when I want to do a short leissure walk there (maybe by
selecting the destination with a click)?

How would I tag that only motorcars have access=destination, but for bikes

Although adding more ways to the map, makes it in some areas less nice, most

much other paths are located.

For me rendering paths would be a plus.

Although adding more ways to the map, makes it in some areas less nice,
most paths are probably in mountain areas (e.g. sac_scale=mountain), where
not much other paths are located.

For me rendering paths would be a plus.

 Hallo Rainer,

It is relation #9420, last edited by you on 2008-06-06 and then deleted

The user had deleted the ways 24395720, 4902770, and 4902773 which were
part of the relation. I have restored these ways and the relation, but
without checking whether my restoring them has now perhaps lead to a
  duplication of data.

Many thanks. Can I find these ways myself (e.g. in OSM)?

 Ja, wenn Du sowas wie

 http://www.openstreetmap.org/api/0.5/way/24395720/full

Many thanks again. Seems like gomaddin did some improvements in Rottenburg.
Through that he deleted the three ways and replaced them by new ones. Somehow
the relation got deleted through this.

I removed the three ways properly from the relation and deleted it from the
osm database. I contacted gomaddin to find out how the relation got deleted
by have no response yet.

I'm the current maintainer of the Google Maps module for Gallery 2 [1]. It
can parse location information from the EXIF header of photos. I know it
doesn't help you now, but a future goal of mine is to refactor the code to
allow it to use an OpenLayers setup as an alternative to Google Maps.

That is really good news. Motivation enough for me to get my photo collection
migrated from cthumb to gallery (though there are other reasons too). Thanks
for all the replies and I hope to see eventually OSM integration in
gallery :-)

my idea of how this should be rendered is:
 grade1: just like highway=service
grade2: continous brown line (maybe less bold than tracks are currently

grade3: dashed brown line (the current style for tracks, maybe less bold)
grade4: dash dotted brown line (appearing at higher zoom)
grade5: dotted line (appearing at higher zoom)

For me that would be very helpful. I am not an artist though and can't judge
if that would make the maps uglier or just more useful.

It's worth noting that tracktype is not a universally welcome tag - a
lot of people think having an arbitrary scale isn't very OSM-like,
and that it's better to tag specific characteristics. We don't
necessarily have anything better, of course.

I agree. In particular it does not reflect the diameter of the stones on the
track. Having a track with large rocks (as it happens often in the Alps) or
very small stones certainly makes a difference when you ride with your
bikeNevertheless the tracktype information is much more useful than just
knowing it is a track.

If we don't want to have mapnik render different tracks differently we

Meh. It's on my list of things to do, but to be honest I don't see it
as very important. There's lots of things that the cycle map doesn't
render at all, and for one I see distinguishing onroad/offroad cycle
routes as more important than the difference between tracktypes; ditto

I am very happy to hear that this is on your list. I very rarely use cycle
routes along roads, so I have a different opinion, but I am probably in a
minority here. And at the end you do the work, so you decide :-)

Thanks for the nice cyclemap.
