[OSM-talk] Disappearing nodes from wheelmap.org
Hi, i'm the developer of wheelmap.org - a osm based map for wheelchair accessible places. The OSM contains about 415.000 places with this tag. We prepared a dashboard with a few major cities (mostly in Germany) and the amount of wheelchair tagged places:https://metrics.librato.com/share/dashboards/3wf885ot?duration=2415600 Today i had a look at the last 4 weeks and saw a reduction of the amount of tagged nodes/ways. This made me think, because the over all number is constantly increasing. I suspect that a tagging scheme has been changed and i am not aware of it. Can someone help me to find out, what is going on? Or am i wrong? Thx, Christoph ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk
Re: [OSM-talk] Disappearing nodes from wheelmap.org
Hi, do you still support only poi nodes instead of areas too (e.g. buildings, parks, ...)? If so, one reason could be the change from poi nodes to better poi areas. For example: Previously tagged node of a restaurant is replaced by a more complex way. This way represents the whole restaurant building and is of course tagged with the wheelchair-key. Next question: Could you show the best entrance to a restaurant, if one is accessible by a wheelchair and the second one not? My first guess was that there was something wrong on our servers. But everything works fine. That's why i think there a conversion from one tag to another going on. As it is happening all over the world this might be something with public transport. But i couldn't figure out which. Is this a feature request? ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk

Although I'm not sure that would account for all of those numbers. For example: Previously tagged node of a restaurant is replaced by a more complex way. Yes and it has been declined before :) http://wheelmap.uservoice.com/forums/31554-general/suggestions/1157049-support-entrances-to-buildings And I can see the reasoning for things like restaurants and such being more confusing but for larger buildings (universities, malls, government buildings, etc) it really would be useful. Hi Chris, How do you select tags to show wheelmap-pins? amenity=telephone seems to be out of scope for example. http://maps.wizu.jp/wp/wp-content/uploads/IMG_3270.jpg http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/node/622880579 http://wheelmap.org/ja/?a=blat=33.23674lon=131.60825node_id=265855360q=%E5%A4%A7%E5%88%86zoom=18layers=BT Shu Higashi 2013/4/18, John F.
