[OSM-talk-be] Vhello - New Cycle Nodes Network /Nouveau réseau Points-Noeuds Vélo / Niew Fietsknooppunten

2019-08-11 Thread François ROLAND
Hi Corentin, hi Polyglot,

I've encoded a few routes between Vhello junctions, starting with
Braine-le-Comte area.

I'll go on in the coming days based on the paper map and fietsnet website.

Polyglot, if you also encode some routes, maybe a good plan is that you start
with the West part of the network so that we meet somewhere in the middle. What
are your thoughts about this?

@Corentin: le monde est petit ;-)

Best regards,

François

Re: [OSM-talk-be] StreetView?

2011-11-23 Thread Tim François
If you want to stick strictly to OSM best-practices, you CANNOT use data
that you have collected from Google StreetView and use it in OSM.

Re: [OSM-talk-be] Verkeerstuin

2011-08-11 Thread Tim François
I've certainly never seen one of these in my 20 years in the UK (though that
doesn't mean they don't exist of course!).

Do they exist in NL or DE? If so, they'll probably have been mapped so you
could copy that?

How do you map a "verkeerstuin" (I have no idea what the English or French
words are). It's a place where young children learn the traffic code while
riding a bicycle or a go-cart. You find one in the Vrijbroekpark in Mechelen
and Rivierenhof in Deurne.

Re: [OSM-talk-be] Introduction

2011-04-16 Thread Tim François
Interesting discussion here, and welcome to OSM Marc!

The subject of abbreviated vs non-abbreviated names in OSM is addressed in
the wiki at
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Editing_Standards_and_Conventions#Street_Names,
if you want the "official" (or accepted) party line (depends on how
"official" one believes the wiki to be, of course!).

One question: under what license has the data been released?

Can't remember that one, but I can point you to the relevant thread in
talk-gb for you to read through:

Re: [OSM-talk-be] associatedStreet

2011-03-18 Thread Tim François
Funnily enough we've just been having a similar discussion on the talk-gb
list. As it currently stands, JOSM complains if more than one "street"
member is included in the relation. However, there are people who are just
ignoring this and adding all relevant highways for the particular street
(i.e. all those with the same name) as "street" members. There are others
who mentioned that maybe the highways that make up the street be in one
relation, and then that relation is the "street" member in the
associatedStreet relation. No decision has been made on the talk-gb list on
this.

Hope this helps,

Tim

The wiki information is at:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/House_numbers/Karlsruhe_Schema#Using_relations_to_associate_house_and_street_.28optional.29

In theory, you don't need to tag the buildings with the addr:street tag if
you use the relation.

Re: [OSM-talk-be] tool om foto's te koppelen aan gpx-track

2010-05-07 Thread Tim François
For Ubuntu: GPSCorrelate. It's in the repo's. You'll probably also want
gpscorrelate-gui if you don't like the command line.

sudo apt-get install gpscorrelate gpscorrelate-gui

Re: [OSM-talk-be] Belgian OSM Wiki

2010-04-21 Thread Tim François
Woah, there is indeed some funky stuff going on with the images. I'll have a go
tomorrow if it isn't fixed by then.

Also, for images in a Wiki, the best place for examples:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Images.

YMMV.

To all and sundry!
Kindly visit
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/WikiProject_Belgium/Activities
and check / correct recent updates. I have been working on it after the
Deinze mapping party, but am not really proud of results. Particularly
welcome would be some HTML-expertise to clean up the mess with the
images - this pre-existed, but I have managed to make it much worse and
could find no way to re-improve.
TIA! KA
