[talk-cz] hranice plochy tvorena budovou

a take s "vnejsim svetem" je tvorena betonovou zdi, plotem a v nekolika
pripadech prave zdi budovy (ktera je soucasti arealu). Jak se v takovem pripade
postupuje? Ma byt nakreslena plocha arealu a do ni ona budova s tim, ze v
miste, kde je hranice tvorena budovou budou dve cary tesne vedle sebe? Nebo je
mozne vytvorit relaci, ktera z linii predstavujici ploty/betonove zdi/zed
budovy vytvori areal a zaroven nejak zachovat onu budovu?

you mean footway area, I assume.
It is still an overlap.

What happens when we add extra conflicting tags to the two footways,
such as surface, name, access, etc?

I guess routers will use the one that give the best route.
But that one might not be rendered on the map, which could be confusing.

However the wiki recommends to keep linear ways for routability.
If highway=footway, area=yes are used I think that in most cases it is
better to map the linear footways where you would actually walk, which
is usually a little inside the area.

Speaking of routability we should also avoid unconnected footway areas
such as https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/180120094
.

[Talk-it] Note e zoom

O no?

Re: [OSRM-talk] Shared memory with one process

Hi,

The benefit of holding the routing graph in shared memory is that you
can (provided you have enough memory) spin up a new shared memory
segment to hold a new, updated routing graph, and then switch from old
to new in an instant, whereas not using shared memory means you have to
terminate routed, move the files around, and start it up again which can
mean a service interruption of a few minutes.

Other than that I am not aware of any benefits (even if you *were*
running several routing engines on the same server using the same
routing graph, which also is not something that makes sense to me).

[OSRM-talk] Shared memory with one process

2020-02-27 Per discussione Rohit Sivakumar
Hi,
Is there any benefit to configuring osrm using shared memory when I'm only
running one osrm process per server ?

It appears like using shared memory should be redundant for my use case,
but I'm wondering if there'd be downstream effects like cache misses or
slower query response times when the data isn't loaded to shared memory
upfront.

Thanks,
Rohit

Re: [OSM-talk] MapRoulette - cryptic tasks

2020-02-27 Per discussione Blake Girardot
For what it might be worth.

I know nothing about this map roulette project, but in reading the
instructions, what jumps out to me is that imagery changes
dramatically between zoom levels, especially on the higher/more zoomed
in levels 17, 18, 19 range.

And often gets older the closer you zoom in. So even tracing with one
imagery URL, depending on what zoom level you are at, you will see
radically different age imagery and maybe different buildings, roads
etc.

That could be one reason someone cares what zoom level the tracing was done at.

Cheers,
Blake

Hi, some feedback from me. I’ve been looking at overlapping ways, and have
corrected some. A common issue seems to be that highway=* overlaps
highway=footway, area=yes. Where the highway is also a footway, I have not made
any changes as I don’t see a problem in a pedestrian area being linked to a
footway, but where highway is something else, I have separated the two ways.
I’m wondering whether the tool could/ should be refined to ignore the one case
of highway=footway overlapping highway=footway, area=yes.
I haven’t tried to use the editing tool, prefering to use JOSM to do the actual
editing.

[Talk-at] Entfernen des "WikiProject"-Präfix / Removing "WikiProject" prefix

2020-02-27 Per discussione Daniel Capilla

[Automatische Übersetzung]

Hallo,

Daniel

[English]

Hi,

I am Daniel, from Spain. I would like to change the name of the wiki
pages related to the Austria mapping project to remove the "Wikiproject"
prefix according to the pages name conventions [1].

The name of the pages related to the Austria mapping project would be
"Austria" (name of place) instead of "WikiProject Austria", as
recommended by the wiki conventions. It is a change that I have already
made in United States [2], Canada [3], Spain [4], Australia [5], New
Zealand [6], South Africa [7], France [8], and all Spanish-speaking
countries [9] on the Wiki. The pages of Israel, Denmark, Norway, United
Kingdom, Italy, Germany, India, Russia and Philippines have also been
renamed.

All pages with "WikiProject" prefix will be redirected automatically.
There will be no broken links in any case.  I'll make sure everything
works correctly, just like now.

Do you like the idea? I have posted this message on the wiki in case you
prefer to comment there [10].

Thank you for you attention! Greetings from Spain.

Regards,
Daniel

service.

service_times:roman_catholic:rosary=
Su 16:30

forse lì sarebbe meglio andare sull’altra sintassi:
service_times:roman_catholic: conditional =rosary@(Su 16:30);service@(Su
17:00);...

hôpitaux on demande way amenity=hospital

Henri Laborit

JOSM ne montre pas cette anomalie.

Je ne sais pas régler ça.

Merci,

Jacques

[OSM-talk-fr] French Translation Reviewers Needed for Tasking Manager 4

2020-02-27 Per discussione Jessica Bergmann
Hi all!

We have received support from 4-5 translators who have been actively
working to translate the Tasking Manager 4 into French in preparation for
it's release!

*We are looking for 1-2 native French speakers who can serve as the final
reviewers, ensuring consistency and accuracy with the translations. *We
currently use Transifex, which I am happy to share instructions on how to
create an account and get started.

Please reply to this email if you have 1-2 hours available to support over
the next few days. We are looking to have the review completed by *Wednesday,
March 4.*

Thanks a lot!

Jessica

d'excuse !

*Détails et inscriptions :
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Montrouge#Rencontres_locales
*
