Html viewer and accented letters

2005-01-21 Thread Fabio Cipparone
Whenever I receive html messages sent by Italian mailing lists or newsletters
the accented letters are not displayed correctly.

For example instead of "è" I only see "È"

Is it a problem of the html viewer or do I have to set something in the bat?

That is to much for me! But thanks for the answer!

Not that it would be cvs and compiler!

The language resource is simply text file, so you can translate it using
arbitrary text editor. Compiler with embedded editor has some
improvements comparing to ordinary editor. I think you should contact
Alexey Vinogradov, the author of BayesIt!, and he will help you. Or, if
you wish, I can send you original English resource this evening.

Bug in "Quote Name Limit"?

2005-01-21 Thread Avi Yashar
Is it just me. When I receive a message from someone who has
apostrophes in her/his name, then the Quote Name Limit feature goes
bonkers.

For example when I reply to a message from "A'ca'rya Somethinga'nanda
Avadhu'ta", what I get is lines that begin with "AcrSnAt>", regardless
what limit I set (currently 4 and based on initials). Even more
disturbing is the fact that this stops formatting as quoted text -
lines begin without the quoted initials prefix.

If anyone confirms, I will be happy to report a bug here. I have a lot
of correspondence with people who use ucchis (like apostrophes) in
their names.

By the way, Marck and Leif, I notice that on this forum dead horses
somehow manage to keep trucking along, and even the coroners who issue
the death certificate seem to carry on conversations with the
deceased. It's enough to make me believe in the supernatural. But
then, bats - aren't they associated with people who live in caskets
and only come out at night? :-)

You have put a very happy smile on my face.

The sig de-limiter in your message to which I'm replying needs one
more thing: a space after the two dashes. Then it will work.

You know, dash-dash and then press or maybe
 is marked on your machine.

You can tell if you have it right, in your Edit Mail Message window,
by pressing Back Space after you have the sig done. The Back Space
will show you the invisible extra space after the two dashes, by not
putting your cursor right up against them.

Sorry if I'm describing it poorly. Do please keep trying. You can
accomplish it, and I am so very happy and proud of you!

No problemo.
After thoroughly reading the listreplies, I also figured out why it should be
this way. The sig delimiter stuff I mean. And I totally overreacted:
text-only messages cannot even contain a virus hence the avg-plugin marker is
totally unnecessary in these cases.

 Same here ;)

I would but unfortunately it contains sensitive information. I'll try
to find one that doesn't.

I also noticed something wierd. My TB! is configure to used Plain Text
(MicroEd) but some mails are exhibited as Plain Text (Windows).
Mostly I see this with spam mails but I thinks this is a bug.

You know, I wouldn't mind if this 'discussion' stopped. I know it was my
lousy message that started off this thread... can I make a lousy request to
stop it right here and now? ;)

I already did. That was my last email to that matter (not counting
this one). As you may see I trimmed the whole message leaving little
to be replied.
