Serious AV problem

2005-10-18 Thread Richard Wakeford
Hello,

A friend has just sent me three articles (perfectly safe as he has
written them himself) in dat format. Don't ask me why as he normally
sends in Doc but he's in Brazil on a different PC. However, each time I
try to open them, I get AV after AV followed by an insistence that TB!
debugs before it allows me to close it down.

TB! reacts so violently that I can't even CTRL-C to copy the AVs to
paste here as I get more AVs when I try to copy and I can't do anything.

Order of priority of templates

2005-10-18 Thread Roger Phillips
 Hi All,

You may have seen that in the last day or two I have had a problem
with a folder template over-riding an address book template and
sending a meesage to TB Beta Requests in error. This led me to
speculate that perhaps we and Rilabs need to take another look at the
present order of priorities allocated to the various levels of
templates and how the templates are called. This is not a new problem,
this situation has existed in TB for a long time.

My recent troubles will illustrate why I would like to take a relook
at things:

I wanted to send a message to a person whose name and address appeared
in a mailing list in my address book. I selected her name and when I
clicked on 'Create a new message' in the address book, the 'TB Beta
Request' new message window appeared BECAUSE THE TB REQUEST FOLDER
HAPPENED TO BE IN FOCUS WHEN I CALLED MY ADDRESS BOOK!

It seems to me that if a 'Create a new message' button is clicked in a
message folder window it is logical and OK that the Folder Template
should have priority, even if the address book is thereafter called to
get information. However, if the address book is called first and then
'Create a new message' is called from within the address book, then
the address book templates should have priority regardlees of what
message folder may be in focus. I suggest too that any mailing list
template should be superior to any individual template. If one
requires individual addressing etc. then one should use the individual
address book entry, not the mailing list one.

This may well have been discussed long in the past but perhaps needs
to be reviewed. Comments please.

It tries to group requests to one folder in one connection. There are

Hi Alexander,

ASK - HTML support should include the template system. This would avoid ALL

It is on the way, but will be finished in next beta cycle.

ASK - a simple (and configurable!) logic that falls back to the plain text

ASK I for one would want a reply/forward to/of an HTML message happen the

ASK quotes, and not like the current (even though better than nothing) attempt
ASK to apply a typical plain-text reply-template to HTML messages. But thats
ASK just me, and others may actually like the current implementation. The point
ASK is: we don't have a choice.

The point is the same - it needs HTML templates, which are not
