You're right of course, but you wouldn't like the time needed to delete a single message, because TB would need to write the whole folder to disk again and especially for the bigger folders that can take some time. That's the other problem - the way TB caches messages on disk. You don't need to write all folder if message is deleted, or folder is marked as read. Outlook and Thunderbird implemented it right. 1) You delete a message, a command to IMAP server is sent to mark it as deleted. 2) If you have choosen to use Trash, Purge command is sent to IMAP server. 3) If Purge and Delete commands where succesfull, a message is marked as deleted in local cache. 4) Local cache is cleared during exit, or during folder change, or on demand. I can be done. V -- Your cutsign isn't working as designed, because it's lacking the trailing space. It should read dash, dash, space, enter. Strange. Re[2]: IMAP Connect To windows with cable connection
Hello Greg, The problem ONLY OCCURS after: 1 I start TB, AND 2 select my IMAP account, FastMail, in the folder tree. After that I get a 'Connect to EarthLink' window asking me for my password. I think I've got the solution. In the account properties (Shft+Ctrl+P) for the IMAP account, FastMail, under 'Network' I need to change the 'Connect to the Internet using' to 'Local area network or manual connection' rather than 'Dial-up networking connection'. I wanted to ask you this, but I told you about my customer, and it was not faulty at him... Also: you have to UNCHECK the specific settings in that window, so DO NOT SET LAN, dont set anything there. Don't ask me how it got changed. It must have occurred on the clean install because I've had this account for a few years and have not experienced this problem in the past. The only conclusion I can draw from this is that his tbuser.def did NOT get messed up (otherwise he wouldn't have been able to switch languages in his previous public 3.62. So, something in the handling of tbuser.def in the later post release beta versions must have changed (gone wrong). Hello, When I have selected View unread messages only (either from the menu bar or using the tab) and TB! does an automatic mail check, the program closes. Date problem MyGate(?)
Hello beta testers. Something is very strange in the way MyGate have been running here for some months. For some newsgroups, I get the same messages over and over again so I end up with many duplicates. The strange thing is that this happens only sometimes. I have uninstalled all virus checking and set MyGate/TB to delete messages after fetching them. I have also delted the whole installation and tried again. The problem reappeared. MyGate is not really a very stable solution. I wish someone would be interested in trying to make a better solution for TB and newsgroups. Hello Vilius, It is definetely TB's fault. The way it handles dash, dash, space, enter, space, space, sometext in flowed encoding. From what I see, there is no space after dashes - I intercepted the very moment the text was just loaded from your message and was not processed by any converter. Additionally, here is a part of your message's source: ===8==cut=here=== It is definetely TB's fault. The way it handles dash, dash, space, enter, space, space, sometext in flowed encoding. -- Pagarbiai, Vilius =C5=A0umskas ===8==cut=here=== If there was a space after dashes, it would be encoded as =20, but there is nothing there. BTW, format=flowed is not encoding. It's just a clue to a message parser about how the text laid out. It's a broken way, IMO - specifically, it's no good for use in mailing lists since it does not know about quotation prefixes. It also does not allow to set maximum text line width. Problem with mailto: link, (was: Re[2]: The Bat! 3.62.11 is now available)
Hello Manuel, Please be more specific in the subject, not just hit reply... So: Please, more attention to this build in all areas (filters, viewmodes, tabs, headers and so on). It will close post-release series. Click on a mailto: link in your browser (tested with Maxthon 1.5.0, Opera 8.5 and Firefox 1.0.4) with TB! closed. After the splash screen I get three cascading AV: Access violation at address 009E3260 in module 'theBat.exe'. Read of address 0364. Try rename temporarily your tbuser.def and try again :)) It heals everything.. I was informed, that: The following issue has been RESOLVED. http://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=4898 Summary:Account selection window Description: When no default mailto: handling account is selected (Account, Properties, General), when I click on a mailto: link, TB! creates the mail with the current account as sender. Re[2]: The Bat! 3.62.11 is now available
Hello Peter, The Bat! 3.62.11 is now available from: http://www.ritlabs.com/download/files/the_bat/beta/tbb36211.rar Double double-click is still here: [*] Double clicks on the message header control now open links and add addresses to the Address Book, as in versions prior to 3.5 In this release you have to double-click twice to get the effect. As far as I understand, it happens because first double-click places the cursor to the header and only the second one is caught for the link/address action. Not really... It does not work, if you click on the name. It works with only one double-click, if you click on the email (with @ in it) part of the header. Try to double-click on the names. You can do it forever :)), no result. -- Vili The Bat 3.62.11 on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Szervizcsomag 1 Current beta is 3.62.10 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

3.62.11: Filter Problem
Hello TB Beta List, I have a filter that is triggered by empty subject - it does nothing but does not continue processing (leaving the mail in the inbox). The filter is: Header field Subject match ^\s*$ I have two emails in my inbox that triggered this filter (I checked these emails with Test Filter). The both have subjects! One of their subject lines is: Subject: =?UTF-8?B?S2V5d29yZCBOZXdzOiBbYWN0dWFyeV0=?= This looks a bit strange, but it is not empty. How is it matching ^\s*$ ? This can be easily reproduced. -- Best regards, Bill TB! Re: The Bat! 3.62.11 is now available
Hello 9Val, Sorting office has gone belly up for me. I can't change the destination folder in the Outgoing mail section unless I completely delete that particular filter and start all over again. I've tried adding another Move the message to a folder command and deleting the first one but it still comes up with the original folder and not the new one. This happens when I immediately save the Sorting office filters or if I switch the focus to another filter and come back to it. -- Regards, Richard | The Bat! 3.62.11 with SpamPal POP3 account and no Plug-ins | Windows XP (build 2600), version 5. 1 Service Pack 2 | F-Prot AV, Outpost Firewall Pro 3.0, Spysweeper, Adaware, SpyBot http://perso.wanadoo.fr/lazyhomes/holiday.html Current beta is 3.62.10 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
