Not true. Poorly written or ActiveX enabled only. Opera is not ActiveX
aware by design. Opera is big on mobile devices.

Opinion, not fact. I have dozens of customers all around the world
that find Opera to be all they need.

I was talking about your host, not the client. Kiss MSN goodbye and be
healthy!

What a crime that would be!

At that time, however, Opera did not work well with many sites. There
are still a lot of sites where Opera does not render correctly. That
is what has kept Opera as an 'also ran', unfortunate as that might be.

I still (possibly because of familiarity) prefer TB over the
alternatives. OE is still 'brain dead', Thunderbird is not as useful
to me (I use that on a company box since I can't have personal email
there). I am still confident that eventually TB will catch up with
MSN and their new authentication 'scheme'

Yes this behavior is lowest common denominator (RFC2046 - 4.1.2.
Charset Parameter ). But when I set UTF in template:
%CHARSET="utf-8"
prior TB versions use this charset and not change to us-ascii or winCP
- that first problem and second is that standard codepages are
us-ascii, ISO and utf not Windows CP. Third that I set in template
ISO-8859-2 and TB change this to win-1250 - not US-ASCII.

This should be an feature: even if you select utf-8, us-ascii is used
if there is no character not included in us-ascii.

If my mind is right, this is even an recommendation from the eMail
standardisation: always use the most simple method, if an more
sophisticated method is not necessary.

Codepage changing

2007-10-17 Thread Sebastian Murawski
Hello TheBat Beta List Members!!!

In message template I set my local page ISO-8859-2 up. Windows
standard is win-1250. When I create new message on below bar I have
Central European (ISO) - OK.

Please try to have in message Privcy > Sign when Completed and empty
Subject. TB will ask you like in pic 1 choose OK, then like in pic 2
and also choose OK (I do not know why this dialog is in polish - I
have english language). Now you see dialogbox pic3 but more important
is codepage in below bar. Codepage is changed to Central Europen
(Windows).

My windows: WinXP sp2 GE
Regional settings: PL and also for software that can not use UNICODE
