It's not an "absolute" - not on TBBETA, because of the need to test HTML messaging on-list. There are 2 main purposes to not allowing HTML as a rule: 1) It doubles the message size and we're on borrowed bandwidth (thanks Johannes!) and 2) HTML causes the main message body to be MIME encapsulated and that in turn pushes the list message footer into a "part.txt" attachment. 4.0.0.6: Unread tab
Hello TBBETA, In the office, I depend heavily on the Unread tab. At home, I don't usually use it. However, I clicked on it today in order to test it with this alpha version. Situation: Download of mails always starts when TB! starts. While they are downloading, I hit the Unread tab manually, because it is not sticky and the All tab will always be active when TB! starts. No problem with that. With this version, I suddenly received cacading AVs in module thebat.exe at 0096F1E8, read of address 00. Nobody else has reported this, I will watch again next time. Closed TB! with task manager, reopened it, hit the Unread tab. Beautiful, now the account names are shown in front of the folder names. However, when starting to read messages with crtl-], the order of the folders shown switched around. I completely lost track of where I was or what I was doing. In the office version 3.99.6, the folders are in the order as in the All folder list, nothing moves around. This is important for me, as they are sorted by account, within the account by country. If they keep switching around when I start reading, I cannot use the Unread tab at all. Wish: Kindly have the folder list in the Unread tab behave as before, i.e. show the folders in the order as they are when All folders are shown. The idea of the Unread tab is simply to only show folders that have unread messages and leave the other invisible, not to do something fancy with the order. Thanks. -- Cheers, Thomas. I haven't had a lot of use yet but I see some explosive potential. Perhaps the CC fields should not be tracked but at a context item to track individuals even if incoming mail is shut off from tracking I deleted the entire address history and started fresh. On group mails I added the group address to "do not track" so the individuals don't get added yet I can still call the group address from the address book. The list builds slowly and I have only had to delete a few that I truly don't want to track. I can always get those with the search function when viewing the contents of a folder -- Rick The Bat Version 4.0.0.7 (ALPHA) on Windows XP, Service Pack 2 Current beta is 3.99.29 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Re: TB 4.0.0.6 Alpha - Keyboard Shortcuts
Hello Goncalo, > I follow TBBeta threads on a folder where I receive everything > received from the list and when that thread gets dead I move it to a > folder related to the year the message arrived. I also have a folder for TBBeta (I'd assume most people do) and for every mailing list I'm subscribed to. But specially for mailing lists I do use threading by Reference because I find it much easier to follow the "conversation" the way it has been actually produced (i.e. with the different branches and sub-threads). Also because, when threading by Reference (that I call 'proper threading'), if someone modifies the Subject the thread is not broken. I also move 'old messages' to a folder in my password protected Archive account. But I do this automatically by using the "Alternative deletion" in the folder Properties. I have many folders set up this way. -- Best regards, Miguel A.
