I got this image when I switched to other user and returned to my
user.

I'm using the Pro version with one iKey and I got the question dialog
saying I should reconnect the iKey and answer NO.

It could be reproduced with:

 - Minimize TB! to the tray (check Preferences)
 - Switch to other user
 - Swicth to previous user
 - You should get the dialog about iKey. Answer NO.

On the ex_log file I have this, but it seems it's not the bug I'm
talking about.

OK, no big problem now that we have the option of SSCE and Hunspell.
When I decided to use CSPAPI many years ago there was big 'quality'
difference in the SSCE dictionaries and the Office 97 ones. But I
assume the SSCE have improved since then.

Now you're making the same mistake as I did. Pannekoek already
was changed into pannenkoek in 1995.
You should have chosen paardebloem that turned into paardenbloem in 2005.

RO> I'd be better of without a spell checker. Now I'm relying on it and when

Well, I moved the old ones in a zip-file, which removed the pre-2005
spelling.

There's another problem though: TB doesn't "remember" what languages to use
for spelling. I have to reset it for every message/reply, unless when I
write 2 new messages one after another.

But I fully agree with Roelof. While I think it is useful to be able
two use two (or more) languages simultaneously (Spanish and English) I
don't think it is such a good idea to use more than just ONE dictionary
for each language. Which would have precedence in case of a spelling

You can get a hunspell dictionary from
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Dictionaries

For example, to add Russian dictionary, extract the files ru_RU.aff and
ru_RU.dic to the "dictionaries" folder.

No, and the future versions of The Bat! won't use CSAPI any longer.

I like the appearance of the new one, even when using the same plain
text font in MicroEd: Bitstream Vero Sans Mono. Is there a default

as I think:

CSAPI - program detects paths to directories in Microsoft Shared registry path

HUNSPELL - program checks "Dictionaries" directory in TB's Home

SSCE - program checks "Speller" directory in TB's Home

The speller files all seem to be SSCE.clx of various sorts. I don't
have OpenOffice.org, so don't have a Hunspell dictionary AFAIK. The
CSAPI is apparently part of windows? Wouldn't any dictionary used

Not only that but the program should be intuitive and not a series of
kludgy work-arounds.

That works most of the time. However I would hope the Bat would work
like other editors.

Try highlighting some text that you want to work with and catch the

The options under Spell Checker/Options only allow you to set the
options for each of the spell checkers. All 3 spell checkers are used
now if you have language dictionaries that match your language
selection(s).

I may be wrong, but if you have English (American) selected from the
list of languages and you have a dictionary file for CSAPI, SSCE and
hunspell then all three dictionaries will be used to check your
spelling. If you only have an SSCE dictionary then it will be the
only one used to check spelling.

That is interesting. Spell checker is working and I can access both
CSAPI and SSCE (as well as Hunspell), but selecting SSCE doesn't
"stick" between new messages. It reverts to CSAPI. Of course, I
don't know which dictionary is being used! I assume that the
standard TB SSCE files in the "Speller" folder are being used, but
then why is the spellcheck working when the default setting (CSAPI)
is being used?

In all events, I now have a working spellcheck for US English, but I
am not sure what is going on with the CSAPI-SSCE choice, which as I
say, reverts to CSAPI. Where are the CSAPI spelling files found?
Part of what program or folder?

Well fairly often when typing a new message or a reply. For example:

exampple - it would be nice to just select the p and delete it
wierd - select the ie and replace with ei
SDEBSQSA - it should be SPEBSQSA (a virtual beer for the first person
to know what the acronym is for)

For me it is often easier and quicker to select a mistake and fix it
rather than retype the whole word. Maybe its just me, so I will
invite people to agree and disagree with me. :)

I actually love the way it is implemented let's say in IE: start
selecting from the middle of the word, pass the delimiter and the
whole first word is selected as well.

When using Ctrl-Arrows the cursor doesn't stop at quotation marks (or
comas and periods).

Should it only select the whole word when you pass word delimiter? At
least that is the way it works in most editors with this feature.

While we are at it, quotation marks don't work as word delimiters.

Also, Shift-Ins followed by Ctrl-Shift-Left Arrow work completely

OK I see. Did not realize that.

Also can you check the following.

When looking at message on preview screen, right click and select
Use Plain Text Viewer. Then do it again a few more times. The check
mark seems to come and go randomly and the top of the page seems to
do an odd thing. Here the first time it is selected the the text on
the page goes down by one full line. The second time it is selected
it goes up 1/2 a line and the third time it goes back up to the top.

Up an running.

No access to CSAPI user dictionaries through Spell Checker ->
Dictionaries, only SSCE ones are available.

I reported this yesterday in the middle of some thread, I will add a BT
report later.

The only SSCE language in my TB is AM (American English) because it is
the default one installed with the program, I have never installed any
other language from the Int Pack. But I do have (and use) CSAPI British
English and Spanish with a user dictionaries that I have been
'constructing' for years, but I can't access these now. Only the SSCE
ones appear when selecting Spell Checker/Dictionaries.

If I revert to 3.99.29 I have no problem accessing the mentioned CSAPI
user dictionaries.
