My first sentence above should have read: "When you ARE ASKED to add all the sender fields to the address book". If it was worded properly you would have easily understood that I was referring to the dialog: "Add the rest to the same address book/group(s)?" As I wrote, if you respond with "Yes", then all the rest go to the same group without editing. "No" means you'll be presented with each one for editing so you'll see exactly what is going where. "Cancel" skips the rest - it is like hitting "No" and then hitting "Cancel" on each edit dialog. It's really very nice - but the dialog could be a bit clearer. If you are confused by the current scheme - or find it annoying to you, instead of using the Ctrl-K feature, just right click on the specific address you want to add and choose "Add to address book." -- Best regards, Bill Beta 3.0.2.6 Pro BayesIt! 0.7.5 X-Ray 1.0.1.2 XMP 0.9.6 XP Pro SP2 POP3 Current beta is 3.0.2.7 Rush | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Actually, Bill, the command that I use is "Specials>>Add Sender to Address Book". I do not see any command to "add all sender fields to the address book". Clicking Cancel may end the operation. Sometimes it does not end the operation, and I get presented with the exact same dialog box (same address information). > If there's any remaining after you accept one, you get > the dialog to accept all remaining (yes puts them all > in the same AB Group without edit dialogs. The problem being, of course, that you generally don't know what you have put into your address book. > If you select No, that means you don't want to place > them all there or you want to edit them before placing > them - and you might want to change their Group. You > will get an edit dialog for each - change and accept > them or click cancel to bypass one. But here the problem is that when I click No, I generally get an address book entry that is exactly the same as the one that I just accepted by clicking OK. It makes no sense to nag me about something that I have just done a few seconds earlier. > If you choose Cancel from the Yes/No/Cancel dialog, the > remaining sender addresses are skipped. That is correct. Anyway, in my estimation, none of this makes any sense. It is just a time-consuming annoyance, undocumented and unproductive. But it seems that I am the only person irritated by it, so I might as well let the matter drop. -- Avi Yashar Windows XP Pro SP2 and The Bat! When you ask to add all the sender fields to the address book, you are presented with the first in an AB edit dialog. If that's not the one you want to add, click cancel and the next one is presented. If there's any remaining after you accept one, you get the dialog to accept all remaining (yes puts them all in the same AB Group without edit dialogs. If you select No, that means you don't want to place them all there or you want to edit them before placing them - and you might want to change their Group. You will get an edit dialog for each - change and accept them or click cancel to bypass one. If you choose Cancel from the Yes/No/Cancel dialog, the remaining sender addresses are skipped. -- Best regards, Bill Beta 3.0.2.6 Pro BayesIt! 0.7.5 X-Ray 1.0.1.2 XMP 0.9.6 XP Pro SP2 POP3 Current beta is 3.0.2.7 Rush | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Yes, TB appears to be also looking at the "Sender:" and/or "Return-path:" fields, but I haven't confirmed this. -- Best regards, Miguel A. Thanks for the attempt at an answer, Miguel. The big problem I have is the "maybe more" that you mention. For example, to test your theory, try this out on a message where the From and Reply-To fields are the same. You will still get this question. So that means that TB is definitely, not maybe, looking at something else as well. To the best of my recollection, I have never used this feature when TB did not ask me this question. So all I want to know is what is it that TB will be adding if I answer Yes. To my thinking, this behavior is annoying and unfriendly. But before I file a complaint - bug - on BT for something as longstanding as this, I'd like to get more feedback from others. Hence all this blah-blah. :-) -- Avi Yashar Windows XP Pro SP2 and The Bat! I believe this is due to the fact that, at least for this operation, TB does bot consider "sender" to be just the address in From: field. It looks like it also check for the presence the Reply-To: field (and maybe more)and if any of these fields includes a different address than the one in From:, it will ask you if you want to also include the _rest_ of addresses. As an example, just take the messages in this list. Yours, the one I'm replying to, includes your address in the From: field but the Reply-To: is set to [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Best regards, Miguel A. Add to Address Book - Longstanding Question/Problem
When I receive a message and use the Specials>>Add Sender to Address Book option, I fill in the information and click OK. Then TB comes back to me with the question: "Add the rest to the same address book/group(s)?" What is this question about? If I reply Yes, then that is the end of the operation, but I don't know what I just agreed to. If I reply No, then the Edit Address Entry dialog reopens, like before, only this time when I click OK, the operation completes. -- Avi Yashar Windows XP Pro SP2 and The Bat!
