Hello Cees! On Thursday, November 27, 2003 at 8:40:48 PM you wrote: that is correct, but there's a warning message-window that explains it! You are right, I just misinterpreted it. It shouldn't be there as it shouldn't be implemented this way. If you want to have it for one specific folder, you have to use the folder properties. Begs the question, why we have a View Mode Manager and the possibility to create various View Modes at all. -- Dierk Haasis The Bat 2.01.56 on Windows XP 5.1 2600Service Pack 1 Wer von anderen nichts erwartet, darf sich nicht wundern, wenn er nichts erhält. Hello Alexander! On Friday, November 28, 2003 at 8:42:45 AM you wrote: DH why we have a View Mode Manager Create different views Hopefully you just took up my message as a starting point to make these statements. Otherwise you totally misunderstood me. *My* understanding in connection with the View Mode is exactly like yours. But since the VMs don't stick, when I context-menu-click on the columns in a folder and choose one - with the exception of the MT virtual folder (thankfully!) -, they are a bit pointless. Hence my rhetorical question. When this feature is developed fully it will be a very handy addition. -- Dierk Haasis The Bat 2.01.56 on Windows XP 5.1 2600Service Pack 1 To be is to be the value of a variable. (W.V.O. Hi Peter, on Thu, 27 Nov 2003 22:23:51 +0100GMT (27.11.03, 22:23 +0100GMT here), you wrote in mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] : PM ... memo field PO I have the memo field added to view modes generic and MyView, using PO different widths. In both cases Autosize is not checked. Thanks a lot! Autosize was the culprit. I just didn't see it or grasp its meaning... ;-) Now I seem to get the setup that I want! *S* -- Cheers Peter Politics is the entertainment branch of industry.
