Question: why the heck the number of V> accounts effects the redraw... TB! runs thru all of the accounts when V> I close a mail??? I've done that trick. When I reinstalled the program, I added one mail account at a time to see what the overall performance looked like. With one account, I could still see some screen redraw if I looked carefully. When I hit five accounts with one IMAP, I was back to the same old performance problems. Also, when the connection centre is set to open automatically and close, the screen, "sticks". Finally, as mentioned earlier today, the shut down is really bad. After processing 50 e-mails this morning, the program took over 6 minutes to shut down. So, I think we can continue to play detective. The clues continue to point to the same problem, code issues. My personal expectation is that the program will operate with the same level of speed performance or better than 3.0.2.10. The programmers really need to dig into this one. I see not difference in the graphics when using the current released version. However, if I use 3.02.10, when I uncheck the feature, the graphics are different. Double-click on the desktop icon My Computer, then Control Panel (that's in the left pane, second from top and is called "Other places"; Control Panel is the last option). In the Control Panel you can access the Security Center when you click on that large icon. It's the last one of ten options here. When the Security Center opens, you have a pane on the left that's called "Resources". If that's not the case, please let me know what is different in your version. -- Cheers, Thomas. I've reported this problem quite a while ago. There is something very strange on the graphics side. I have + Tested two different graphics cards (Radeon and nVidia) + Doubled the memory (from 512 to 1Gig) + Made sure by XP Professional SP2 were up to date. + Change graphics options (Windows Advanced Features) + Tested it on three different machines (Laptop, PII and and a PIII) + Cleaned out the registry + deleted the tbuser file numerous times + Done a new install twice. Still the graphics is a real problem. I think there is something in the underlying code. However, I am only a user and I can only report my problems from the perspective of using the program in the field. I suspect the programers are aware of this problem. Jerry -- Ethan J. Check the mainboard chipset and graphics card drivers first, I'd say. When I repaired my Windows XP installation last week, I was missing the VIA chipset AGP busmaster driver and thus could not install the latest ATI drivers for my gfx card. Screen redraws were painfully slow. After installing the chipset driver again I updated the gfx card driver and everything was running fast & smooth again. -- Best regards, Alexander (http://www.neurowerx.de - ICQ 238153981) Egotist: a person more interested in himself than in me. -- Ambrose Bierce Current beta is 3.62.14 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Slow redraw of main screen, try to find the cause
Hello all, So, you could see this thread about slow closing of TB! and slow reappearance of the message list (or main screen) if you open and close a mail in full window. So, please, open a mail in full window (Enter) and close the mail (Esc). So, please answer this questions: 1. How many second is from the push of the Esc until you get back your original main screen? Estimate. 2. What is you op.system (if XP, Prof or Home?, specify that English, Russian, etc.)? 3. What is your service pack? 4. When did you update your Windows last time? Do you have automatic update switched on? 5. What kind of CPU you have (speed, too), how much RAM you have. 6. What is your TB! version (I am kind of interested in the .14, last version)? I have a XP Home, with SP1, and 512 MB RAM, it takes 3-4 sec to close a mail... It is not right. As other people have the same problem, with this survey I would like to find out, if my opsys have some old component that redraws that screen this slow, or not... -- Vili Current beta is 3.62.14 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
