 Some  bugs  are  so obvious that are only acceptable
 on alpha stage...

But that will happen with beta testing. One thing gets fixed and
something else breaks. That can be aggravating when there is a major
mess but that is entire point of beta testing

It is also the price for getting to play with cutting edge software.

The  problem  I  encountered  was  having  the  rogue from a previous
message  obscure  the  attachments  icon.  I  was  unable to get to the
attachments  without closing and reopening TB! If I hadn't known there
was supposed to be an attachment I would have missed it.

The recent beta version becomes worst and worst: with the 3.99.11, I
have Canvas does not allow drawing (on a Vista system, not a Windows
98 !!!).

With the 3.99.11, at launch, I have two popup messages:
Canvas does not allow drawing (nothing new)
and a brand-new Cannot change Visible in Onshow or Onhide

The Bat ! don't lanch, it remains on the splash screen.

Back to 3.99.3.

guys, yes this is beta, everything can be broken! In Beta/9, VCL library
was changed and it caused many problems, which are now focused in
bugfixing.
You should stop testing betas, if You have problem, they are buggy... I can

When minimizing can not create shell notification icon appears
and closed window shows up on desktop rather than task bar.

When minimize to system tray is chosen, no icon appears anywhere,
task disappears from Windows and program won't restart without
reboot.

Minimize to system tray worked in 3.99.09 and .10. I prefer
minimization to task bar which hasn't been working

AFAIK these problems are related to new VCL, because Beta/9 and Beta/11
caused these errors too, I have added them to BT already.

Not only am I getting Cannot create Shell notification Icon but i
blows the bat away yet leaves thebat.exe running. I have to delete it
with task manager

 And  there's  the  non-motion  of  the icon in the systray, I now never know
 when there's mail. It's not flapping it's wings.

 All in all quite annoying issues.

No, that's why we're here but it just seems strange that a beta is put
up for download with a universal fault that everyone sees like the
taskbar icon malfunction.

It's still a problem though and has been mentioned enough before in the

For the first time I had to go back a version as 10 was so buggy as to
be unusable. I do not say that lightly. From .10 to .11 was a short
cycle but most are considerably longer. Should we in effect go without
mail? I don't think so  :)
