Torsten,
other that the methods you mentioned you can make folder specific templates. Click on
the folder properties and you have access to
templates creation again.

Maybe this serves your needs somehow?

Not directly, but there is a sneakier way. Create a Quick
Template for every task you want to perform. Give them handlers,
then when you want to change the way a certain e-mail looks just
type the handle name and press Ctrl+Space. Don't forget to first
erase the contents of the message with %Clear, in order to not
get garbage.

Example:

example
%Clear%-

%Cursor

%Cookie
/example

Hope this helps.

By gosh, it does. I was used to the help file being rather outdated. I

Another thing that I find quite handy is building Address Book
groups. And then when anyone comes up from that group, their
email is formatted in a special way.

Just a note on folder templates: I learned, tho I was warned
by experienced TB! users not to use folder templates, why not.
You must remember that your cursor focus *must* be on that
folder for the particular template to work. And if you are
dealing with a lot of folders as some of us are, you can
sometimes forget this get an un-wanted format.

TB! sees templates first starting with AB entries, then AB
  groups, then folders, then account.

There's really nothing wrong with using folder templates. The problem
is with using, with folder templates, macros that automatically fill
in recipient addresses . One has to be careful here since any message
created with the folder in focus will be addressed as instructed in
the folder template if there's no overriding address book template.
Embarrassing things can happen. Address book templates are better when
using macros as those.

...
Allie There's a lot you can do with folder templates without using
Allie these tricky and dangerous macros.

JR Plse tell me some of the useful things one can do with folder
JR templates.

Let me give you two examples of how I'm using folder templates.

The first has to do with moderatorial duties. Some messages are sent
to us for approval to prevent repetitive or unintended posts. We look
and approve or delete as needed. The return message has to be
forwarded to a particular address that's within the message body. I
also cannot use the usual forward template that I normally use. I
therefore created a folder level forward template for these messages
that are filtered to a particular folder. To approve the message, I
simply hit forward and send instead of having to copy and paste the
address from the message body and applying a quick template. I
couldn't do this with an address book template.

Another example was the forward template for my spam folder that I
used to use. I now use spam cop for this. I had created a template
especially suited to notifying ISP's.

Another examples?

You run a tech support system and need to use a particular template.
You cannot use address book templates since many people will be asking
for support and adding them all to your address book would only
clutter it.

I could go on :-)

Address book templates cannot be used for everything.
