This is a known bug introduced in Beta/20.

I _think_ you have to have a plugin and someone have to write it.

I don't think such a macro exists.

What should happen if a message has attachments? Would you really want
the whole encoded attachment to be part of your message? Sorry, but I
don't see the point in doing this.

Perhaps you should use MIME forwarding for such messages. You can either
enable it in your 'Forward' template or use the menu 'Specials ->
Alternative Forward'.

HTH.

Bat Hanging?

2002-01-01 Thread Stefan Zauchenberger

People,

I have been using The Bat for over a year. Just a few days ago, the
program started locking up during normal operation. It will hang and
take up 99% of the CPU. After about 5-7 minutes, it will come back.
It also happens each time the product is launched.

I am using Win2000, 900mhz PIII with 192mb RAM. My version of The
Bat is 1.52f. I am not using antivirus software on this machine.

Please help. I am looking for any ideas on how to solve this problem.

Regards,

Stefan

The only thing I can think of is that the Inbox is uncompressed. This
has been known to cause such error. You should have the Inbox folder
set to "Compress on Exit" in its folder options.

It sounds like you need to compress your folders.
 |-> Folder
|-> Compress All Folders.

When you move or delete messages, the message is only *marked* as
deleted. It still exists in the original message base. By
compressing the folders, you physically remove those marked messages.
You can have TB compress folders everytime you close TB by selecting
the option in each folder's property dialogue. If you define age
limits or maximum number of messages in a folder, you need to run a
purge operation. Purge first filters based on the folder properties,
then runs a compress operation.

Hanging - more info

2002-01-01 Thread Stefan Zauchenberger

Group,

It seems the "hanging" situation most often occurs when I drag
and drop a message from the inbox to another folder. The Bat will
freeze and consume 99% of the CPU for 5-7 minutes. It then
relinquishes and carries on.

Also, possibly unrelated,I am occasionally getting the message:

SEND - Server reports error. The response is: Out of Memory

What is out of memory? Where?

Stefan

Re[2]: Bat Hanging?

2002-01-01 Thread Stefan Zauchenberger

Marck and Januk,

Thank you for the response. I had suspected that compressing and
purging the folders might help. I have tried this multiple times
now, and it has not corrected the problem. Any other ideas that
I might try?

Also, I do find the option to "Compress all folders on exit"
anywhere in the interface.

Best regards,

Stefan

It's just the Inbox that's going to be at fault. I have no other
ideas. Disk fragmentation? Too many messages left in the inbox (mine
has 0 of ~175000 messages stored in the inbox - they are all
filtered).

SZ> Also, I do find the option to "Compress all folders on exit"

That's a new option which has been introduced in the 1.54 beta series.
You won't find it in the 1.52f you're using.
