My confirmation arived in about 5 minutes, the codes in about 30
minutes but it depends probably on the timing. As registration and
codes come from a different place presumably he should send his
confirmation to the bat place which supplies the codes...

Very weird, and if I understand you the system you want to install on
has the drives Linux cannot find???
Linux has many oddities (especially the ones I run as they are
development versions) but I never had problems finding drives (unless

the only clue I have is my bios setting:

I think it has something to do with that... but I can't figure out why

this makes absolutely no sense.

Once you fiddle with the bios, almost any os gets a problem unless you

Motherboard: not really sure
 it's an Intel & it supports the pentium 75,90,100 & 120
 not sure about the chipset...
Processor: intel pentium 75
Linux: SuSe 6.2, sco-unix: 5.03, Beos 4.0

well, the problem occurs before there should be the need for an os:
it happens at system-check... (the bios rejects the drive on startup,
the os doesn't have a clue there is even one...)

t> Once you fiddle with the bios, almost any os gets a problem unless you
t> use special tools to get at the other part of the drive
I can't even get an error from the os... as the os sits on the
hard-disk that has vanished from the system-check...

As far as I know P60/66/75 and 90 were on one kind of chipset. 100 had
a different board and then 120/133 up had another chipset again. Its a
bit history but I think as sockets where different size unlikely they
all could fit on your board
I have had an Intel p60 in the far past and never had problems but my
drives were small.
Ok, I have asked a few friends as well if they have any ideas.
I mean if you can run dos it should be possible to get Linux on it (!)

Why not. I'd would add an option that could be entitled: "reply using

type, it doesn't switch templates.

That was exactly my point. When people move TB! from one PC to another
there is a reason for it other than just having multiple machines on the local
network. I had mentioned that I use TB! at home and work, someone else

It is kinda hard for people to get to the port through a firewall, esp. if

OK people I found it under windows explorer... program files\the
bat\mail\pasjfest\attach, I noticed 3 other attachments there two that
I sent, and one I didn't even know I recieved, fix-cih (??) i know
there was a thread on this.
MY question now is that there is no folder called attach listed when
I'am in the bat, so how do I know when I recieved it, or can't I get
it to stay with the e-mail untill I save it some where?

Just to reinterate a bit my son sent his attachment, bat showed the
clip, but when I read the e-mail no attachment was present, it's like
it was stripped off or removed automaticly, I've been using this
program only for a week so maybe I'am missing some thing or have
settings set wrong.

Yes I do, I trippled check that, I don't seem to have problems with
html attachments, they show up nicely, with a second tab in the
e-mail, none of the others do that.

Attachments of a non-viewable type do *not* show up on a tab like TXT
or HTML attachments. They show up as icons in a panel to the left of
the message text. This panel can be reduced in size to the point of
non-visibility. Could this have happened to you?

I have a few questions, first here is my template for new messages
for the
"thebat" list:

___ Template begin _
%SIGNCOMPLETE
%TO="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"

  %Cursor

- --
Watcher aka Bill DeVos |[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 http://www.aack.net/ | http://www.aack.net/watcher
- -
%COOKIE
- -
__ Template End ___

This template has 2 problems, one is that the cursor is in the to
field instead of at the %Cursor position, is there a way to resolve
this? Second is that the message starts out with a bunch of blank
lines at the top. How do I get rid of them?
My second item is that I would like to be able to hit a single
keystroke (preferably either down or right arrow or something else
without a modifier) that will always take me to the next message.
The
Ctrl-] keystroke comes close but when the folder is all read it
generates an error sound instead of jumping to the next folder (any
folder would be better than the error sound).
I also have one suggestion, I would like to be able to quickly and
easily add a cookie to my list of random quotes (cookie list). As it
is I have to select several menu items, then scroll down to the
bottom
of the list, then hit enter, then paste the cookie. Is there a
better
way?
Ok one more question, I have setup PGP to save my password for 2
hours yet TB continues to ask me for my password for each message.
Have I misconfigured or is this a limitation enforced by TheBat?
All suggestions welcome, all flames redirected to /dev/null.
Please
reply to me personally as well so that I don't miss the answer on the
list.
  Thank you all for listening.

This is normal for new messages...

Press Tab twice, or click in the text window :-)

Move the following lines from the top to the bottom of the template.
The effect is the same:

Personally, I wouldn't want it to jump to next folder, but error
alerts are mostly annoying. It should be only a little error sound
instead.

I can't see how this could be made much better :-) You can, however,
use an external file for cookies (check out the macros)

Funny, what is the %Cursor command for, then?

Try the space key.

I don't get an error alert. Just nothing happens if I hit CRTL-] and
there is no new message. I think that's OK (although I'm still
advocating to change the whole short-key system and use, for example,
N instead of CRTL-] for New Message. But then this was discussed so
many times on this list and I don't want to bore anyway - I didn't,
did I?)

If you mean to the left of the "From" column, I show a paper icon with
a clip on it, if you mean something else if I open up the letter than,
NOthing is there extra. I also checked external viewer under options,
but this seems to do nothing.

has anyone got an idea what the %attachment thing is supposed to do??
It always tells me none and it would have been logical if would have
listed attached files

Well, if you tab in the message, you get put to that place of course.
It is just expected that you enter the address first thing.

It's supposed to work in the Print templates and would print the
attachments. I have never tried it, though, because I print the
attachments seperately (I look at them in, for example, Word, and then
print them from there if I want to).
