Hello David, On Wednesday, September 27, 2000 at 19:25:13 GMT -0700 (which was 7:25 PM where I live) witnesses say David Tod Sigafoos typed: I have been trying to figure out how to create a filter which could 'copy' the message to a hold folder. Once this is done it would allow normal filtering on down the line. First and foremost, I would recommend checking out the FAQ on filtering available at http://www.silverstones.com/TheBat/Filtering.html There is a great tutorial there that can help you get started. Now if I understand you correctly, you want a copy of the message put in your hold folder, and the Inbox copy should be processed by the rest of the filters, correct? If so, set the source and destination folders to be your Inbox. Then under the actions tab select Copy to folder and choose the folder. Next, under the Options tab, select "Continue Processing..." This should do the trick. If you continue to have problems, please post what you've tried and what errors (unexpected actions, etc.) you're getting. Also, please note that the order of filters is very important. -- Thanks for writing, Januk Aggarwal See header for e-mail address Using The Bat! 1.47 Beta/5 under Windows 98 4.10 Build A -- -- View the TBUDL archive at http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com To send a message to the list moderation team double click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe from TBUDL, double click here and send the message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org

Where am I confused? You're almost there. The alternate *sets* are connected by OR's, but each set can have AND connections within it. (Confused?) So you have Set 1 (Main Set) [EMAIL PROTECTED] Recipient = yes [EMAIL PROTECTED] Kludges = yes Set 2 (Alternative) [EMAIL PROTECTED] Recipient = yes [EMAIL PROTECTED] Recipient = yes [EMAIL PROTECTED] sender = yes So you've specified the logic as follows: [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a Recipient AND [EMAIL PROTECTED] is in the Headers OR [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a Recipient AND [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a Recipient AND [EMAIL PROTECTED] is the sender. Add another 2 sets under the alternatives tab and change Set 2 to look like this: Set 2: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Recipient = yes Set 3: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Recipient = yes Set 4: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sender = yes So now the logic is: [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a Recipient AND [EMAIL PROTECTED] is in the Headers OR [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a Recipient OR [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a Recipient OR [EMAIL PROTECTED] is the sender. However, I never ran into the problem you refer to even when I was using the Betas. Alex has explained the problem before in more detail. He frequently changes views (From the view menu and the associated keyboard shortcuts). When you switch from one view to another and then back, TB goes to default sizes. His point is that these settings should be sticky. Someone else (sorry, I can't remember who) pointed out, this just means changing initialisation constants to user definable variables. The values are stored somewhere anyway, so there should be no additional coding required, just a minor change. Alex: When you mention this problem, perhaps you could be more specific. It seems most people (myself included) think you are referring to stickiness between shutdown and startup of TB. In this respect the settings are sticky. -- Thanks for writing, Januk Aggarwal See header for e-mail address Using The Bat! 1.47 Beta/3 under Windows 98 4.10 Build A -- -- View the TBUDL archive at http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com To send a message to the list moderation team double click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe from TBUDL, double click here and send the message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org
