Re: PGP signing - odd characters

2002-01-31 Thread Clif Oliver

I played around a bit, but also couldn't find a common denominator.
Sometimes adding a single linefeed after makes it go away; sometimes,
before the first line; sometimes both; or not.

Like you and Carren point out, it's more of an intellectual curiosity
to me at this point. In my case, I just found the whole thing
humorously ironic, and that it wasn't just me.

Now when all of my code is completely bug free.

2002-01-31 Thread Henrique Niwa

hi all
I created a regexp to match that email banner at the bottom of the
messages, and put it on a template based on my friends folder, but the
problem is that not all the messages contain the banner, and at these
messages, the reply is in blank

%QUOTES="%SETPATTREGEXP=""(.*?)(^(_|-){3,}\n^[a-z].*?\n^[a-z].*?)%-
""%REGEXPBLINDMATCH=""%TEXT""%SUBPATT=""1"

anyone can point me out what's the problem?

Carren,

Thanks for letting me know I wasn't alone in having this problem. I
didn't reply for a couple of days to see if anyone had anything
further to add, but apparently not.

The ironic thing is that breaking their PGP plug-in and having to use
the PGP clipboard tools was the very reason I dropped Eudora and
switched to TB! in the first place.

While I personally do not use encryption... I notice that the command line
supports using of templates. As long as you use templates with the following
macros you should be able to achieve what you need.

ENCRYPTCOMPLETE automatically encrypt the current message when it is completed
INSERTPGPKEY="address" insert the OpenPGP key for the given address from the
public key ring. This feature works with the internal OpenPGP implementation
only
SIGNCOMPLETE automatically ask to sign the current message when it is
completed
USEPGP enable using of OpenPGP for encryption/signing of the current
message
USESMIME enable using of S/MIME for encryption/signing of the current
message

or you have it sent to you from
here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=get%20MAQ.

The TBUDL list has been set up for the purpose of discussing The Bat!
and how to use it. It is a community of users ready and able to help
new users get to grips with some of the capabilities of this flexible
email client. More complex issues are discussed on the TBTECH list
(see below for details).

Simply send messages to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to send it to the
whole list.

To leave this list, send a message to the auto-responder at
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. You *must* submit the unsub

If you wish to receive the list digest instead of individual mails,
please send mail to: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with the text..

Here's a quick link for it .. just double click here and send the
message that is generated to begin receiving the list as a digest:

It would probably be a good idea for you to set up a folder to keep

JS> Problems with WinGate:

i used WinGate for some months (if we are talking about "DeerField's).
the best way is to use no proxies.. Install it on the server and
install "Wingate Internet Connection Client" to other machines and do
not make any modifications to clients, that proggy will handle
everything and your machine will work just like dialup connection
without any proxy, ip setting etc.

My other suggection is this: run the DNS server of wingate always :)
and also i can suggest to use wingate's DHCP server, manual ip
configuration is also enough.

what you should keep in mind is that: "WinGates Server for it's client
must be running. i do not remember it's name but it is running at
default. and also you must check accesibility options of that server.
adjust it such that it can be connectable from lan but not from
internet.

I managed to send signed & encrypted mail with S/MIME and X509 certificate,
I managed to send mail with the command line (thebat.exe /MAIL..);

Incredibly, frighteningly, unbelievably well. It can, for example,
tell the difference, based on context, between "Re:" and "regarding."
It spelled "Kirsten" correctly the first time. On the other hand,
there has never been a time when I didn't have to go over my dictation
carefully to correct things like "war" where it should be "or," or
failure to capitalize a new sentence if I waited too long to start up
after dictating "period." I find it more helpful at some times and
less at others.

I used a prior version of ViaVoice. Aside from the fact that some
functions were incompatible with my computer, it was not as accurate
then, and took much longer to train, than Naturally Speaking. At this
point, although I would look carefully at the latest reviews before
purchasing and although I'm generally a fan of IBM, I would prefer
Naturally Speaking.

For regular emptying of the trash set a maximum number of days or
msg's. in the Trash Folder properties (Right Click)
I have mine set at 5 day's so I have some time to recover from my
mistakes or late night sessions :-)

Manually emptying should then only me a necessity if you have to
delete "VERY" confidential emails.

I've used Winroute for a while but it had problems with my local mail
server. So now I have Microsoft Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)
enabled on my server. The only thing you have to do is enable DHCP on
the clients e.g. let the clients obtain a IP address automatically.

It works flawless with TB! and all other programs I use. You can even
do port mapping.
