account.adr contains info about the address book(s) you use and the

account.cfg contains the account properties, like servers, address,
account templates, etc
account.flb contains the folders and their properties for v2
account.flx contains the folders and their properties for v1
Depending on the TB version you use, one of these two files will,
when you place them in a new account while TB is shut down, cause
TB to replicate the folder structure as decribed in the file for
your new account. (Haven't tried that in v2, but in v1 it did
work.)
account.his contains info about (among other thing) the last subjects,
recipients, search strings you used.
account.log contains info about the last connections, received and
sent mails, triggered filters, just like any log file for
an e-mail client.
account.m_d
account.m_r don't know about these two, they're both emtpy (zero
bytes) on my system, though they've got the same timedate
stamp as my log
account.qtn contains all of your quick templates
account.srx contains the sorting office (your filters)

Re: AB templates for groups

2003-11-24 Thread MAU
Hello Thomas,

No - it would be a duplicate AB entry outside of the group.

Not over here, as I have only one AB entry for my sister. When I
create a new message using right-click (i.e. activating Favourites)
the AB's New Message template kicks in; if I use autocomplete from
history instead, I get the Account template.

I have seen this behaviour just over the weekend. The AB New Message
template kicks in is double clicking on AB itself or from Favourites,
and I get the Account template if autocomplete.

However, in my case, this happened ONLY with AB entries which had a
duplicate in another AB, one I use to do a mailout of a newsletter. So,
there is no duplication within my main and default AB, but the same
e-mail address (no name or anything else) does have an entry in another
AB.

 Is it a bug yet?

I consider it so.

Create a new folder.
Move all messages in your Inbox (that you want to save) to the new folder
Shut down TB
Delete the messages.tbi and messages.tbb files corresponding with your
Inbox (You can find those at: c:\program files\the bat!\mail\accountname\inbox
Start TB again
Now TB will create those files again and run without problems

However you might consider the possibility that the file was corrupted
due to disk problems, so I'd suggest running scandisk and defrag.

TB checks whether there's any mail in the pop3 box at your ISP's.

TB downloads any new mail.

During the checking you'll see that the connection centre is active.
When you're using a setup like mine, you'll only see an extra TB-task

When there've been actual new messages downloaded, you'll see them in
your account's message base.
Whether there were any new messages or not, the checking is logged in

Hi jon,

Maybe this will work but I would not try this without enough backups.

Go to tools backusp and make a ful backup making sure that you have
selected store external attachments with msg body

If this works all attachements to emails you currently have in your
databse will be stored in the backup file.

No you delete all attachements (and maybe emails) and do a restore from
the backup. You should now have only the attachements of which the msg
are in your database.

Don´t blame me if this doesn´t work, but I wll take full credit if it
does :-)
