Hi Gerard

No, no. You misunderstand me. The problem is happening on two
different machines with the same version of TB!. Let me explain. This
problem first occurred when I upgraded TB! from version 2.01.3 to version
2.04.7 on my Windows 2000 machine. I mentioned it to the list but no one
else had the same problem so I figured that it may have been a problem
specific to that machine so I upgraded TB! version 2.01.3 on another
machine (Windows XP) to version 2.04.7 in order to confirm that the
problem was machine specific but it is also happening on this new machine.
So the problem (as far as I can see) is not to do with me because it is
happening on two different machines but the same version of TB!, therefore
the new version of TB! is the common denominator here.

I am doing the right thing (the same procedure to create filter
automatically that has worked with all previous versions if TB! i.e.
right-hand click on a message | 'Specials' | 'Create Filter' - should
bring up a dialogue box from where you can create a filter. It does
nothing on my machine. I anyone can see that I'm doing something wrong
please let me know.

Having said all that, it appears that I'm the only person using this
version who's having this problem

> Maybe you can ask someone else to try it on your machine?

Could do but I will tell them what to do in the exact way that I do it
therefore the result will almost certainly be the same

Hello all,

a few days ago I received an e-mail from

of The Bat! would be released. However, checking the Ritlabs website
today, the latest version seems to be 2.04.7. Was the e-mail a hoax?

no, but release date was delayed, as You can see in my signature, we

The good news is version 2.1 is almost here.
I hope that solves your problem.

One thought, could this be the result of a malformed header in the e-mail?
Have you tried e-mails from different sources?

Good stuff. There's nothing like a newer version to help eliminate
certain problems

Don't think so. Tried a number of different e-mails in all my 8
accounts, including ones where I had performed this operation
previously so there's clearly some other dark force at work here.

Thanks anyway

I smell an application interaction underway there. I've been bitten
before in the same way though not with that particular problem. No one
else could duplicate it and I agonized over it until I, on each
occasion, accidentally discovered that it was an application
interaction.

Watch out for those applications like WindowBlinds, PowerPro and other
such shell utilities that otherwise seem so innocently without
problems. :)

There's nothing to do! If you got the message, TB already found and
imported the lost folder and put it in your folder tree. Just look
for it in the TB account folder tree - it should be there.

One would think Ritlabs would have sent a correction with the new date. It's
as basic as it gets in term of professionalism and after all, it should just
be child's play, one or a few clicks away for them, right?

One would be wrong.

Once again.

Will Ritlabs EVER grow up and act as a respectable/reputable company? This
is getting old...

Oh well thanks for the update Marek. How lucky for RT to have people like

Bug in 2.10

2004-04-16 Thread John Phillips

Hi Bat! Fans,

When starting up I get the following error message:-

"Can't create folder c:\ProgramFiles\THEBAT!\Bayesit.
Check that no file with such name exists or that access to the folder is
allowed."

I deleted the folder - re-installed, same message.

I un ticked "Read Only" as the folder attributes - same message.

Message appears on installation and each start up session.

Bayesit is loaded, apparently after the message is accepted (ie click on the
"x" in message window).

Seems to work OK, but thenI hadn't noticed a problem with the previous version. I
found one trash folder in one of my accounts that hadn't been set to clear old
messages, clicked the relevant boxes and exited TB. When I launched TB again, the old
messages were gone.

Ver 2.10 Unread Tab

2004-04-16 Thread Munango-Keewati
Hello tbudl,

Could someone explain to me the purpose of the Unread tab if all
messages--read, unread, parked, etc--are still displayed in the right
panel when that tab is selected? One would expect to see only unread
messages displayed for each folder in the Unread tab panel.

I must be missing something (actually, quite a lot) here. I've spent
more than an hour looking through the menus and can't find anywhere to
set the properties of the Unread tab or its folders. Nothing in the
Help file. Right clicking doesn't work either.

Help, please?

Thanks in advance.

I couldn't see which version you're using but in TB 1.62, I need to
purge the folder before the expired mail goes. (either select the
folder then from the Folder menu, choose Purge+Compress; or from the
Folder menu, choose Purge All Folders).
