You can use the %GMP_FileExist function from the Gaijin Macro Plugin:

%_FILENAME="C:\bootlog.txt"%-
%IF:|%GMP_FileExist("%_FILENAME")|=|1|:|%-
%ATTACHFILE="%_FILENAME"|:||%-

You can download the newes version from: http://www.gaijin.at/tbpgmp.shtml.

I haven't tested this, but I think it will do what you want to do.

1. Add the MyMacros plug in to TheBat! After you've done that, you can
use %Run(command line) to run a command line from a Quick Template.

2. Create a directory called (for example) c:\forthis .

3. Create an empty text file in the forthis directory. Call the file
   empty.txt . Give empty.txt the read-only attribute.

4. Create a batch file, called thefile.bat in the forthis directory.

  Rem begin thefile.bat

  cd c:\forthis

  copy c:\forthis\empty.txt c:\forthis\adhoc.txt

  if exist \yourfile.txt copy \yourfile.txt c:\forthis\adhoc.txt

  Rem end thefile.bat

5. Write a Quick Template called GetFile

  %Rem="Start GetFile"%-
  %-
  %Run(c:\forthis\thefile.bat)%-
  %Include(c:\forthis\adhoc.txt)%-
  %-
  %Rem="End GetFile"%-

6. Use %Qinclude(GetFile) in a template

   or

   Type GetFile[Ctrl]+[Space] in a message

If yourfile exists, the contents of adhoc.txt (which is identical
to the contents of yourfile) will be included in the message.

If yourfile doesn't exist, the contents of adhoc.txt (which is identical
to the non-contents of empty.txt) will be included in the message.

Are you sure that's what necessary to back up attachments? If so, why does TB!
allow you to check the "attachment files" box for backup, and elect not to
store them in message bodies, as I've done? If it was necessary to store
attachments in message bodies to back them up, TB! would do so automatically.

Furthermore, I'm positive the attachments have been backed up, because my .tbk
file is 100MB and my successfully restored mail folder is only 30MB. The
attachments are in the tbk file, they're just not being extracted and restored
properly.

Just for the record, is anyone with TB! 2.12.00 able to successfully back up
and restore attachments separate to message bodies? Would someone mind running
a small test and checking that for me? I'm pretty sure this has always worked
for me in the past.

Thanks :)

Not that that I'm aware of.

But there's a work around
%AttachFile='c:\file\foo.txt'
Will attach the file, when the file doesn't exist, it gives the text:
Cannot find file c:\file\foo.txt

So the only thing we need to do is redirect that output text.
We can do that by using a variable
I tested this with the macro below:

%_NullText="%AttachFile='c:\file\foo.txt'"%-

When the file is found, it'll be attached
When the file isn't found the text 'Cannot find file c:\file\foo.txt'
is assigned to %_NullText and as long as you don't use %_NullText
anywhere else, you won't find its value in your message.

Simply set "Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]" as your filter string and
"Kludges" as the location (presence "Yes" is obvious:-)

You can test for all headers with the location "Kludges". Just add the name
of the header (X-Mailinglist, or whatever) to the filter string.

Basically, when you specify a message as belonging to a chat, it puts
that "thread" of correspondence in the chat folder.

So, for instance, if you specified this thread on the TB list as a
chat (don't do this as you'll tick some people off), then everyone
using TB would have this thread in the chat folder.

It's use is to keep all the messages together in a running thread so
you can track the conversation in its entirety.

You need TB users to be able to use this.

And again, don't do this with a list message, as you'll force that
thread into the chat folder with notifications to everyone on the TB
lists who didn't turn it off explicitly (or maybe by default it is, I
don't recall).

I run dual monitors, if the 'Topics Found' dialog comes up on the

I had a similar problem with Delphi and always put it down to the

Windows related problem, I'll have to do some investigation.

With earlier versions (including 2.12 and previous), I could reliably cause this
problem by activating a filter, either manually or on new-mail arrival. The most
recent beta does not cause it, although automatic filtering does not occur
consistently.

I reported it here:

> Are those messages huge?

Usually not. They vary in types. Some are HTML, while others aren't.
Usually when it happens, it's the Inbox and all the messages in the
Inbox are affected. I filter all messages from the Inbox so only a few
messages that have nowhere to go and aren't filtered at the server
level end up in the Inbox.

Even then I have a filter that dumps these messages to a Sundries
folder so that the Inbox remains empty. The first sign of the problem
occurring is that all the messages in the Inbox fail to be filtered.

Nothing special usually. Just that it's connected. No unfinished

The Received field is not inserted by TB, but by a receiving server.
In your case, your ISP's SMTP server. It's possible that your
computer's name is part of the communication packet. I don't know if a
firewall makes a difference(probably it depends on the options that
are activated), but if you don't have one installed, give it a try.
Also, is it possible that you have NetBIOS enabled for the internet
TCP/IP connection?

Maybe he has something setup that hides his computer's name when

Is there maybe something you could send me off list to enable KAV again,
as like I said, it previously worked extremely well with TB! This was

Hello everyone,

is there a macro (or some other solution) to test the existence of a file

if its not there, don't do anything.

I don't understand if all the above gets put into your header.

Please try to understand what the regular expression does and try to
adjust it.

If the above gets really into the mail header then you'd have to use
this:

%SETPATTREGEXP="| Signature made[^\n]+key ID ([0-9A-F]{8})\n"%-
%SUBJECT='GET 0x%REGEXPBLINDMATCH="%HEADER"%SUBPATT="1"'%-

please note: only the regular expression got adjusted.

It seems that the photo field of vcard created with TB can only be viewed by TB.

I can read vcard created by TB on my Palm Desktop Soft (on PC, not on the

the DBCS and Unicode support of TB is very poor currently. I also use becky to

In that case you won't have to enter a STRING on the RULE tab (unless
you want to use a filter string to further filter among members of
your "work friends" group).

Instead (or in addition), on the ADVANCED tab:

Error restoring attachments

2004-08-11 Thread Tobias
Has anyone else experienced problems restoring attachments with The Bat! 2.12?
I reinstalled Windows today (with a slipstreamed SP2), and before formatting I
did a full backup in TB!, electing *not* to store external attachments in
message bodies.

Now that I've installed Windows and have come to restore my TB! archive, I get
this error when trying to restore attachments: "Error extracting
attachment 'filename' into 'path'", where filename is one of the attachments
and path is in my MAIL directory. I've tried this with older backups and get
the same error.

Has anyone had similar experiences, or know a way to fix this?

Thanks!

Hallo Thorvald,

On Wed, 11 Aug 2004 10:27:50 +0200GMT (11-8-2004, 10:27 +0200, where I
live), you wrote:

The only way for me to duplicate this somewhat is when I set my view
for HTML/text and/or HTML-only messages for HTML only.
But that gives me two tabs HTML and Headers, so that is a bit
different from what you're experiencing.

TN> Anybody knowing what's the reason behind it?

You mentioned 'some folders', might they contain messages from the
same (group of) contacts(s)? If so might they have a different
lay-out? I'm thinking of the text being an attachment or something
like that.

As I want to ignore those tabs most of the time, I prefer them at the
bottom. On top they would be too prominent. YMMV

Viewing headers...

2004-08-11 Thread Thorvald Neumann
Hæ!

When I hit Ctrl + Shift + K, this shows the headers of an email.

Some messages appear as the always did:

headers then directly message text

Now in some folders, I just get a header view and two tabs appear
beneath the message window: Text and Headers.

Anybody knowing what's the reason behind it?

Oh, and Tabs at the bottom are not as good as having tabs at the
top... ;)

Which synchronization method do you use? Are those messages huge? What
says connection centre about your IMAP session?

Hello Chris,

CW> 9Val - Can you tell me why the option is no longer available?

We had problems with Kaspersky AntiVirus and have no any response and
contactsfromKaspersky'sside, so it was disabled. Only
receipt to make Kaspersky working is to switch to one of previous
versions of TB! :(
