There's a distinct difference between folder identities and folder
templates. Folder templates won't be used in case an AB template is
triggered, but the folder identity will be used as long as the folder
is selected, just as the account settings are used when the account is
selected.

How can I choose my visible tabs below my accounts tree ?

2004-09-26 Thread WilWilWil
Below my accounts tree, there are folder tabs.

In the past, I'm sure (in V2 ?) that I can choose which accounts or folders will be
displayed in those tabs. Today, for all my accounts, there is a tab. I just want Tabs
for unread mails through all the accounts and same thing for spam and quarantine.

How can I choose my visible tabs and remove others ?

I'd recommend using another client for the migration as well. TB! is
not good at moving a lot of messages from a POP to an IMAP account.

You'd have to export the TB! messages to unix format. Place the unix
exports into the mail directory for ThunderBird. When you open
ThunderBird, it will contain folders with the name of each unix base.
You can then move the messages to the IMAP account. I've never really
done this.

What I did was to keep the POP account mail as an archive account and
started fresh with IMAP. I moved across some messages but only a
fraction of them really.

Don't know Outlook but OE has an option to "read all messages in
plain text" which I have checked and an option to "reply to
messages using the format in which they were sent" which used to
give me problems until I unchecked it. I might be getting confused
with html messages that contained images rather than links to

I guess v3 is different to v2.

My experience using v2 is that autocomplete from the address books
does not work at all but autocomplete from input history works
very well, is case insensitive and even changes the case of what
you have typed this time to match previous usage, so you type "a"
and it could suggest "Andy".

A feature I would like to see would be pressing a key to cycle

Mail aliases

2004-09-26 Thread Raymund Thomas Tump
Hi TBUDL,

maybe this was asked already but I have no clue for what I should
search...

Using GMX you can define mail aliases which use mainly the same
account but set another mail address on sending. This is useful
sometimes, but you have to set the alias in the web interface which
isn't useful...

Is there a way to tell TB! to use such an alias other than defining an
account for it? That's what I had done in the past for a special
alias, but if I would like to use some more now. And defining a alias
account for every alias is a bit too much, as sometimes I hit the get
mail button on the wrong account...

Hi,

I use a thread view for displaying new mails in this group.
Unfortunately I haven't found a command or shortcut which allows me to
delete a complete thread instead of single mails. Have I overlooked
something ?

Thanks

Moving from POP to IMAP on The Bat..

2004-09-26 Thread Tom Kiblin
Hello Folks -

I've been happily running The Bat for a year now and I am trying to figure out a game
plan to move from a POP3 setup to an IMAP setup, including moving my 65000 emails and
lots of attachments up to my server under IMAP.

Any suggestions on migrating everything I have to IMAP without losing
data/attachments/emails/etc?

Also, does The Bat 2.x or 3.x support IMAP in offline and folder sync mode, so I have
a local copy on my laptop as long as I sync everything?

Thanks!

Tom

There is an older version of FreePOPs that supports SSL. I used it and
it worked well. Last time I looked the newer version did not have an
SSL counterpart which is a pity.

I believe the default also comes with plugins for Hotmail and Yahoo. I
haven't tried these, but this should offer some nice alternatives for
Batters.

I haven't spent any time with the Web interface. All of my mail
through Gmail has been encrypted, so I don't think searching would
help much. I'll be curious to to what types of advertisements I
eventually get.

SP3 ?? whaaa?

SP2 adds a firewall that could be your problem.

MP> Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

try turning off firewalls, since Avast works ( I use it) it must be your
new upgrade? to SP3 of WHAT ?

I've had lots of problems with templates in V3. Did you remove those old
files before you upgraded?? I think they were the *.spx ??
or was it .srx ..
and my AB templates stopped working too, only some.. weird..
I think that problem may be my address template. I add all addresses
from the TB lists to groups in my AB. I think one of those added names
superceded my AB template for that person.

Email Send Problems

2004-09-26 Thread M . Putnam
Hello,

I keep getting the following error

"Message has not been sent. Server Reply - end data ending with ."

This keeps coming up whenever I try to reply to or forward an email...

New emails (that do not use quoting) are not affected by this...

I had this same problem way back when I used to use Norton AntiVirus 2003... I
had to chuck NAV2003 all together to get the error to go away...

I now have use Avast which has a specific plugin for TheBat! and it worked
just fine until I upgraded Windows XP with SP3...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance,

M. Putnam

Is the "%cursor" macro still where you want it in your template, or has it moved or
disappeared?

Just a thought - I don't have v3.

Filtering inside JUNK folder

2004-09-26 Thread Nikola Knezevic
Hi,
I have several account, one of them being hosted on Linux machine,
where I put CRM114 to filter the mail. It isn't perfect, so it misses
a couple of spam messages, which are later picked by BayesIt. Well,
BayesIt moves those messages to common JUNK folder, which is OK. But I
need one more thing, and thats to append all those messages coming
from that account to one file.

So, how to write filter which will append every message coming in JUNK
from account tesla to file spam.txt?

I've set up filter in Incoming mail for Common folders, but it doesn't
do its job. I've even set to add colour group, just to see how it
works, but nothing happens, until I manually refilter JUNK folder.

  Thanks.

PS. In case you wonder why I need this, its because I have to retrain
  CRM on false negatives...
