I'd say its your antivirus software, because neither my Bat nor my OS are
doing this here, or ever did (even with version 1.62r).

file extension on attached files in received mail

2005-05-25 Thread achdut
When I receive an e-mail with an attached document, I am unable to
directly open the document with a double click because the file name
for the document has a ".aq" exentension that is added to the file
name. This extension is added automatically to all received mail.
(Thus, in order to open the document I am forced to first save it to
my hard drive and then open it. This is a waste of time) Is The Bat
adding this extension to incoming attached files, is my AV software
(Computer Associates eTrust eZ Antivirus), or, is my operating system
doing this?

You can not use HTML in templates, only plain text. To really show a
picture you would need an HTML template.

HTML + pictures

2005-05-25 Thread Tony
Hallo,

I'm able to define a diffrent template for each person in my address
book.
How can I display/insert a picture automatically?
I'm not talking about the attachment macro but really showing it.
I can doe this manually by starting a new message and selecting type
HTML. From the toolbar that then appears I can use the insert
function.

Any help on automating this?

It does. Sometimes I do CTRL-* to expand, CTRL-A to select all
messages, then CTRL-M to mark them all as read.

No problem is unimportant. You just have to find someone who cares!

Sorry, I can't read. Shortcut list says clearly:

"Ctrl+* = open all the branches of all threads in a folder"

Now if that ain't clear enough...my fault.

Funnily enough this works here, too, although I have to use "P"
(x-sign on numeric key) that produces a *

That might be true ;-) but neither function works here, because as

It's more or less a toggle. CTRL-* expands the threads, and CTRL-*
collapses them.

Yeah, it'd be nice to be able to do that. It took me a while the first
time around setting up CTRL-J as a junkmail hotkey because I didn't
realize it lived in two places.

Did you give it any "non-spam" messages when you trained it? I made
that mistake when I first tried BayesIt. If you only give it spam,
then it had no idea what a "Good" message looks like, so everything
will look like spam to it. It needs at least as much "ham" as "spam"
for training.

Beyond that, go to OPtion, Preferences, Anti-spam and select Baysit

Try adjusting the Move message "threshold" to a higher number. You
might also play with the "Avg/Max/Min" scoring, although I am not sure
exactly how that is used (I use Avg, FWIW)

Searching keyboard shortcuts and functions (e.g. "Collapse current thread")

2005-05-25 Thread Martin Schuster
Hello tbudl,

I know everybody's off testing the bugs in the new version, but I'm
currently searching myself to death for a simple keyboard shortcut:

Collapse Thread (i.e. completely collapse the current thread)

An old shortcut list I have says it's -* but that does not work
on my german keyboard (most probably because the * is +PLUS,
which is the shortcut for "open thread"...

And I can't find the item "Collapse Thread" in the customiser. Anybody
knows where it hides?

!!! Idea !!!
How would it be to have a quick search field in customiser so
I can search for Shortcuts or functions/items by namecl? I never know if I need
to search a certain function under "MsgCtl" or "meEdit" because I
don't know what MsgCtl is...

Yes: start to use BayesFilter. The newer and newer BayesIt always
comes out with errors. Our observation is that the errors are fixed in
the new versions, but you get new errors in return :) :(.

Give a try to BayesFilter and you will never go back to BayesIt :)).
