That's what I do too.

QTs are included with all of that. My guess is that they're part of
'account properties' as they're account specific. On disk they're
stored in the account.qtn files.

Not that I can think of. I've been doing for that ages.

BTW I've my .tbk files twice. Once for switching to OTFE and once for
installing Voyager.

Backup Query

2007-11-03 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

just wondering about backups?

I have scheduled a weekly backup and include Acc. Properties, Folders,
Address Books, Global Options and Attachments.
This appears to work fine (fortunately never had to use them) and the
output is a .tbk file.

Two question:

a) do I need to backup quick templates separately or are they included
in one of the above headings? Where would I find my current QT?

b) as mentioned I never had to use a backup but my harddrive now
contains 2 dozen tbk files of increasing size. Assuming I don't notice
a sudden unexplained drop in file size, is there any reason not to
delete older backups? My assumption is that if my most recent backup
does not work, it's likely that the older ones might also have
problems but more to the point, the value of a backup taken a year ago
with respect emails is not very high or am I missing something?

Outbound Problem

2007-11-03 Thread Dave Goodman

I've had an intermittent ongoing problem for the past several months.

When sending email it quite properly goes to the outbox and an attempt
is made to connect to the smtp server, but after some time the attempt
aborts with the error message "Could not connect to the server", which
is also shown in the account log. This happens to outbounds on all of my
three different accounts.

I've enabled protocol logging, but since there is no connection and
hence no protocol exchange, the protocol log remains empty. The smtp
settings in TB! seem to be correct, and have not changed in several
years.

The problem is intermittent; sometimes a message will be sent and the
next message, a few seconds later, hangs. Once a message hangs, it hangs
indefinitely. Restarting TB! is no help. And while the TB! outbound is
hanging, other internet connections work normally.

Any thoughts would be appreciated...
