i stronlgy agree with this and really would like to see some
enhancements on the feature wish list.

the mail ticker is cool and should be extended a bit...

how about this:

click at message opens message window
ctrl-click remove from ticker but leave msg unread
shift-click remove from ticker and mark message read
alt-click remove from ticker and mark message flagged

optional:

right-click on message stops ticker and gives a menu with a lot of
freakin' options applicable to the message...

yep, i fetch my mail from my linux router that fetches them from my ISP

what i would like to do:

explanation:

with the BAT every minute i would like to monitor the spooler-path

if i rememebr correctly, PMail could do this. could the bat get such a

i suppose you are talking about sending a form from a browser with
mailto:, right? don't use this, it's highly incompatible and not
supportet with the most browser/email-client combination. use a
cgi-script instead. there are plenty of them and when you learned to
use them once you won't have any problems with forms anymore again

hallo TBUDL!

is there a way to define the macros in a way that i can use a nickname

the reason is, that it is a bit strange that my messages say "hello

so do the following: talk to the guys at ritlab, help them porting,
throw away (i mean FAR away) that kind of mail-client you wrote for
opera (and throw that newsreader-part even further beyond the edge of
this world), loosely integrate the bat into opera (no Steve, not
integrate, i mean establish a connectivity interface which works in
linux too (in windows it is already implemented as we know), but do
so, that if you like you can tightly integrate it for set-top-boxes
and you are done..

do the same with xnews (the windows one http://xnews.3dnews.net/ (you
see steve, i didn't attach the file! ;)

but all this isn't possible with the manpower opera has. IMHO opera
lacks a chief designer... they have good coders, but i cannot see a
direction in interface and a vision for this browser...

i did it again... please beware of the off-topic trap when
answering... thanks,

i heard your opinion. now start talking to real world users.

and another: why do you use the bat? with all these tasks it can manage
which is better left to other clients. an adress book - why doesn't
it access a PIM? an image viewer: it should use windows default one.
and, ouh, it can even be a mailing list host. and a mail server. and
you can even /write/ mail?!!

it is absolute legitime to expand a program - and it is not to do so. so
lets stop the discussion here. it might get selfish...

it simply sucks (or zoots as they say) anything in, via clipboard,
outlook synchronization or import (and zoot even knows which website i
vistited, no matter if with opera or explorer... cool). as import
options you have newsgroup and email. it looks like it is quite
format-independent. it just extracts the infomration it needs...

the lack of a help-file is quite problem, but you can download an
archive which puts their knowledge-base and their mailing-list into
zoot. what is simple impresive is that almost every queston people ask
is answered with "yes, do it like this.." and almost never with "we
plan this for the next release".

another megaplus is that almost every function has a hotkey.

since yesterday i simple suck all information i find into zoot and
later, when i like, i organize them into projects and folders or find
them with their superfast searchengine. its a dream...

in opera you can use 1-key combinations (aeh? ;) ) for switching
between windows. that means you have the left hand at the keyboard and
use the button 1 and 2 for going for- and backward between the windows
and z and x (with the thumb) for going for- and backward _within_ the
windows. combined with the far superior cache-handling and so much
faster redraw of visited windows its a hell of a webbrowsing :)

bug in 1.38 (maybe even earlier)

1999-12-09 Thread Patrick Erler

hallo TBUDL!

sending queued mail via the menu does send the queued mail of the
current acount, fine :), and tells me that i can do the same when i
press shift-f2 - but when i do this it tries to send ALL queued mail
from all accounts. not too bad but at least the menu-entry isn't
right...

my 1.38 bat is crashing quite often. especially when sending mail

it always ends in an "Access violation at ^$*^(&^:, press ok...

no, usualy this is not enough. i have a .com email as you see and lie

resolves in my case to ...nikoma.de which leads them to the complete

problems with messages PGP signed by me

1999-10-22 Thread Patrick Erler

Hi!

I have trouble with signing and checking messages...

When I send a message to myself and sign the WHOLE message with PGP
and check the received message i get a "not valid".

If I do the same with just a BLOCK - everything is fine.

I suspect that the bat is changing the message when it sends it - i
just can't find out how... (character table translation?)

any ideas?
