New messages showed twice

2005-06-12 Thread Ralph Inselsbacher
Good evening TBUDL,

whenever i get new messages, they show up twice in the inbox. When i
switch to another folder and back to inbox, one of the two shown
messages dissapeared.

I'm using IMAP with FastMail.FM. Does anybody else experience that
behavior?

File associations are not being saved...

2005-05-21 Thread Ralph Inselsbacher
Good evening TBUDL,

I run TB! 3.5 on my notebook and on my desktop. Both machines have one account
with administrative rights and several user accounts with restricted rights. As
admin i set everything up, so that TB! is my default client and handles
mailto:, .msg, .vcf, and .eml. Once set up that way, the accounts with
restricted rights use those settings as well. On my notebook at least, but not
on my desktop. On the latter i can do whatever i want to finalize these
settings, but with no success...

Any ideas, where the info is stored besides the registry? Even the registry
knows TB! as the default handler for these extensions but TB! hisself seems to
forget about them...

FastMail IMAP: How to really delete messages?

2005-05-21 Thread Ralph Inselsbacher
Good evening TBUDL,

i use FastMail IMAP and The Bat! as my default email client. Now i have one
strange problem:

When i delete messages from my mail client, they are moved to trash and are
marked as deleted, when i log into the webinterface - but not really deleted.
Since they are marked for deletion, will they be deleted after some period of
time, or do i have to double delete them, when using my mail client?

There isn't one :-(. You have to view the message headers or message
source and copy the ID from there.

i wanted to believe that, if i wasn't that sure, that there was such a shortcut

Fixed, was a mistake of mine.

But another problem occured: When the text is inserted again with fn

Hold down the alt button while clicking on any item in the message

So if you wish to see all messages from me, just hold down the alt

for message subject, and the various flags. You may wish to see all
messages with attachments. Just alt-click on the attachment icon in a

The quick search works by just typing in the message list field, the
string that you're searching for. The quick search will do only message
list searches. Not whole message searches.

Hmmm. Current TB! IMAP is such that I really can't speak with
confidence about what you should be experiencing. It may very well be
that the search isn't working for you since, for message body searches,
TB! queries the server and the search is done on the server. The
results are then sent back to TB!. This why the search dialog just sits
there claiming the search was done and no matches found. You wait and
 then the matches suddenly appear.

That's a pity, because Thunderbird and Outlook 2003 really seem to cache
the mails because one can search.

Do you first select what it is you wish to quote? F4 will quote only
what you select. If nothing is selected, nothing is quoted. Of course,
you very likely already know this and are just pointing out erratic
 behaviour on your system.

Sorry, simply forgot 'bout selecting what to quoute before...

You're right. Neither Thunderbird nor Outlook do cache. It seems my

Re: Default template for send mail from other applications via MAPI?

It is here, once you put the cursor into the message body (by
 clicking or by tabbing down).

Well, when using the send-mail-function from SnagIt, i can do what i
want, no special address book templates are being used, even when
tabbing or clicking.

I'm gonna try a few other apps, but from what i've experienced by now,
it depends on the app. Directory Opus works fine, but SnagIt so far
doesn't

Language file for UltraEdit32?

2005-01-14 Thread Ralph Inselsbacher
Hello TBUDL,

i downloaded and am testing UltraEdit32 right now. Looking on their site, i
found language files even for PocoMail / PocoScript but sadly nothing
for The Bat!

Has maybe anyone built such a file him- / herself? It would be too
damn fine to write templates with syntax highlighting...
