I found this workaround on the FF Forums and it has worked for me (so
far) although I had to do it manually to get it to work.

I'll throw my vote in there too. Although it is recommended that
anyone not use more than one AV solution due to potential conflicts, I
also use AVG 7 Pro along side nod32 and they co-exist very nicely on

AVG has a plugin for email detection where nod32 does not need

I setup the filter that I suggested and sent myself a test message
with REF: ATM in the text and it worked fine (automagically). If it
doesn't work for you, then it must be some little thing that is making
it "break", like maybe the actual path to the folder or something like
that. It works fine here.

Because there is nothing in the "Condition" for the filter to act on.
I don't even know how it is working manually, it doesn't make sense.
I would suggest something like: Text - Contains - REF: ATM if there is
always a Ref # in the email. That should work with no problem.

The filter will look like this:

 TB! Message Filter
beginFilter
UID: [9BBA430E.01C4B29E.7D7ABA06.43893E22]
Name: ATM\20BUYONLINE\20ORDER

I would like to echo Leif's comments Mary. I used to use Pegasus
exclusively. Being one that is always looking for "a better
mousetrap", I came across TB! a couple of years ago. At first I didn't
like it and went back to Pegasus where I said to myself, "I'll use
Pegasus forever". Well, I was wrong. After several attempts at going
back to Pegasus, I now use TB! exclusively. It is absolutely the best
email program (IMHO) out there, and trust me I have tried about
everyone of them. As a matter of fact, I have Pegasus on my system now
although I don't use it. Of course, I have Becky on my system too, but
I don't use that either.

TB! does have a bit of a learning curve, but there are many, many
people on this list, especially Marck, that are more than willing to
help out. That's what this list is about.

So anyway, try Pegasus and if you like it stick with it. If not, try
TB! again. The more you use it, the more you'll want to use it...

My understanding is this: McAfee does not make a plug-in for TB!, nor
do they allow their source code to be viewed so that someone else
could make a plug-in. So until one of those things happens, you will
not be able to scan your e-mail using McAfee. The only AV plugin for
TB! currently is Kaspersky, which I have never tried.

BTW, .bav is the file extension that TB! uses for the AV plugin. Sort
of "Bat Anti-Virus" file.

I have seen on other mailers an option where you can "view threads

manually compress them. Is this possible in TB?

Yes he is referring to that, but wouldn't that send the same message to
*all* the addresses? I'm not sure the person you are corresponding with
would appreciate the same message in 4-5 different accounts, but that's
just me...

Here's what I do:

Open up a new "blank" email and click on the AB icon to the far
right of the TO: field. Do a quick search for your friends' name and
right click on it. Go to Add Address and choose the address you prefer
and put it into the TO: "box" to the right. Click OK and you're there.

Doing the quick search is usually as simple as typing the first 2-3
letters of the persons first or last name provided you don't have AB
entries with the same first ot last name. Even then I think they might
come up right next to each other, but I haven't tried it.

There was a big debate about this back around Beta 10 or 11 and it
seemed at the time that just about everyone was affected by the .tmp
files. When Beta 12 came out someone noticed that the .tmp files were
gone. We all checked our respective \Temp folders and indeed there
were no more .tmp files. I just checked and I still do not have the
.tmp file problem using 1.52c on Win98SE. I wonder if these could be
left over from an earlier Beta?

This stems from the fact that TB! does not support PGP v7.0.3 due to

keep finding these neat little features the more I like it. I have since
taken Pegasus off my system (both here at work and home), which is

Granted, almost, if not all software has it's idiosyncrasies but TB! is

I just realized a couple of days ago that one of these .tmp files are left
behind in my Windows\Temp directory (Win 98SE) everytime I open a message
in TB! So, as a temporary fix I put a little dittie in my autoexec.bat to
clean out all .tmp files from that directory upon startup. I realize that

Hello TBUDL,

I recieve TBUDL in Digest Mode. If I want to go directly to a

 1) "Re" in templates
 2) "Re" in templates
 3) "Re" in templates
 4) Corrupted attachments
 5) Mass Mailing
 6) Re[2]: "Re" in templates
 7) Re[2]: "Re" in templates
 8) Mass Mailing
 9) be careful with the Mass mailing feature
10) "Re" in templates

and I want to go directly to topic #9 without scrolling through
#'s 1-8, can and how do I do that?
