Not sure what the issue is, I'll just go back to using pop with gmail.

I did have a problem with another app on imap and my antivirus was

I find this as well. I have the options for caching both decryption

but usually I have to enter the passphrase for almost every single
 message.

I think that TheBat is looking at the pattern in the signed message, I

Totally off-topic, but the list is quiet.

It seems I don't receive ads but a long footer in traditional
setting. However, YahooGroups! it's a group mailing service free for

Not sure, I guess the same applies to any mailing list group, Google,

PGP/GPG Filter

Hello TBUDL,

I have seen various filters for PGP/GPG to decrypt incoming mails. Maybe it
is me, but I can never get the filter to ask for a password once a session and
then auto decypt encrypted messages. Ever 2 or 3 messages it pops up asking for
a password.

Of course, it could be that fact that I cannot work out how to paste filters
into my setup anyway :)

Just a thought but isn't it a setting in PGP's options to ask for the
password once per session, every so many minutes, or every time?

Indeed there is, but whatever I am doing wrong it always asks. Could be that I
belong to pgp-net, a list that uses 10-20 gpg keys :)

You can create a default reply-to in account properties which will
be used for the MID. That's how I achieved mine. But don't forget to
have this header field shown in the new message and delete it before
 sending.

I will look into it but I usually forget these things :)

In case of this list it wouldn't be a problem, as the Reply-To is
overwritten by the list software. With other recipients there might
occur problems, when they use the Reply button of their email client.

Yeah maybe I will put it through hamster or something and get it to

 TB can't forget it.
How much different do need it? You can change the domain part of your
msg-id by altering the reply-to address in your account settings.

Is your connection ADSL with a router? If so, you may be able to
configure your router similarly to mine.

My router (a SpeedStream 5660) allows me to enter a Domain Name and I
 have 'mydomain.com'.

My PC is called 'maria' and when TB (or other client) connects to the
mail server the EHLO (or HELO) command, which identifies the host
 connecting, shows as maria.maydomain.com

 HTH.

I changed it on my dialup pc and it seems to work :)

You need to set trust level for you key.
 It's very simple:
Open GPGkeys, DblClick on you key and ntert word trust. A menu will
appear. You can use for you key any applicable trust level.

CT Get hold of a free copy of IMAPsize from www.broobles.com. Set up your

CT messages in an IMAP folder. Lots of other useful functions, too,
CT including backup.

Thanks Clive, that looks like a very handy program!

If I understand your question correctly you are referring to the set
available from Leif's PCWize website. Here's the URL. The icons are
all displayed there, plus a download button:

 http://www.PCWize.com/thebat/PCWSmileys.php

If you already have these in your The Bat!/Images directory, but you
can't view them in e-mails, please ask again, and I'll see if I can
list the configuration necessities for showing them.

Thanks mary those are the ones :)

If you PGP/MIME or S/MIME sign your messages to TBOT, the ads will not
 appear as footers.

That may work on TBOT, but not on other Yahoo Group lists. People
using other e-mail clients, especially Outlook Express, freak out when
 they get a PGP/MIME message.

I have seen this esp those who use OE which doesn't verify S/Mime messages with

Have a look at Pocomail. I am probably going to move to it

is less bug laden than TB. I am still on 2.12 or so, and looking for

Thanks. I have been using TB! for several years, somewhere around
2.0. I have always wandered back myself. If TB! would handle filters
consistently, I would not look elsewhere. Alas, I now see that 3.0
has not have fixed the failures. I use popfile and it flags the mail
properly and a re-filter works properly but it misses too often on
 the first pass.

I have had no problems with filters, I belong to several mailing lists and they
consistenly get filtered correctly.

There should be a list, where the people can test if they can test :-)

But surely this is what the list is about to test that we are setup correctly :)

Yeah everyone, it is listed in the help. Thge only way that I could find around

Sean, I have had the same error at the Roguemoticons download all day,
 also. That's: http://www.pcwize.com/thebat/smileys/rogues.zip

However, the Smileys download, on the Smileys page at
 http://www.PCWize.com/thebat/PCWSmileys.php
is working fine. It's just that it is subject to a recursive behavior
error, in which it keeps nesting and re-nesting copies of the Zip file
 in sub- and sub-sub-folders.

Right now, it's okay, at 527 Kb, if you wanted to get some Smileys.

AM All ThunderBird has is good/reliable IMAP support. It has nothing

AM none that offer any real functionality.

Agreed. I've also been using Thunderbird off-and-on for my IMAP
accounts because it (a)has extremely stable IMAP support, and (b)is
free. But beyond reliable bare-bones functions, it really doesn't have
much to offer at this point. When I'm using Thunderbird, I
particularly miss the message templates, the elegant handling of
identities, and the super-flexible filtering. Everyone probably has
their own lists of features of TB! that they've grown to find
essential, but those are the first that spring to mind for me.

AM Now that TB!'s IMAP works well enough for me to read mail from
AM work, the thought of using ThunderBird is now laughable. They
AM simply don't compare once we get beyond basic fetching and reading
AM of messages.

While I'm very excited at the prospect of TB! providing reliable IMAP
support, I'm personally not quite ready to break out the champagne
yet. I've experienced enough intermittent bizarre IMAP behavior with
TB! that I'm unwilling to un-install Thunderbird and rely solely on
TB! for IMAP at this point, and I certainly won't be using TB! on my
work machine until it is at least 95% stable. Hopefully that level of
stability will be reached in the next release (I just installed the
latest beta on my 'play' machine and it looks good so far -- fingers
crossed!).
