Application Error

2001-05-22 Thread Sir Jinx!

Hello,

Recently my TB crashes _a lot_ with the following message:

Exception EAccessViolation in module THEBAT.EXE at BFB78656. Access
violation at address BFF7989A. Read at address FFF

After that I have no choice but to close TB. The interesting thing is
that downloading completes without any problem, but sending messages
stops as soon as the error message pops up. Is this a TB problem or
what?

Different fonts for different use

2001-04-18 Thread Sir Jinx!

Hi,

I have a wish, that is probably impossible;) Wouldn't it be good if
we could chose one type of font for reading the posts, and another
for writing messages?!

I'm asking this because I have in TB some fonts that look great
while I'm reading the post, but when I want to reply the look of the
text is all messed up [the font is either bigger or smaller] and
vice versa, the font looks good only in the Message Editor.

Yes, it looks like that is the case.

ACM TB! tends to auto-select an appropriate font for message
ACM replies, i.e., one that will support all characters generated
ACM in the reply quotation etc. and it will also use a font that
ACM supports the charset used by the sender. Your preferred font
ACM seems to have limited character support so TB! tends to change
ACM it to another when needed.

Hmmm, I thought something like that could be the reason for those
sudden changes.

ACM You can override this by right clicking on the status bar, in
ACM the editor, the area displaying the charset and changing the
ACM charset manually.

I know that, but it is a little dificult to jump every time to the

Kill filters for what? [faster message download]

2000-04-27 Thread Sir Jinx!

Hello TBUDL,

OK, in order to skip downloading first the message
headers, I have to set a kill filter, but for what? How do
   I do that?

With great disgust I must notice that OE [4.72] downloads
messages from server _much_ faster then TB!

Continuosly message downloading

2000-04-27 Thread Sir Jinx!

My TB keeps downloading old messages again, and again, although I've checked
"download from server". Did anyone have a similar problem? Is it a TB
problem, or my providers?

HELP ! MSB file turned to TMP [Broken data base]

2000-04-26 Thread Sir Jinx!

Hello TBUDLers,

When I tried today to open my TBUDL folder [with about
1750 messages in it] I've got an error message that my
   TBUDLfolder [at directory C:\Program Files\The
Bat\Mail\Infosky\TBUDL] has turned to "bad9393.TMP" fIle,
and that I should contact technical support to repair
it I tried to rename tmp file into messages.msb file
but ,of course, nothing happened since the messages.tbx
filedoesn't exist any more! The trick with
   CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+L, didn't work, because all I've got is a
message that a lost folder is found! Is there a way to
turn this 6MB file back into messages.msb file? I hate to
think that I'll have to read all those messages as *one
   long* text file!!! Help!:)

Two [probably impossible] wishes

2000-04-23 Thread Sir Jinx!

Hello TBUDLers,

I'm not a programmer, so for you who are, this may
 sound quite silly:

 - Is there a possibility to skip the "retrieving
headers" proces during retrieving mail, and go
directly to downloading messages. For those of us
who pay Internet per hour, this feature would save
us a lot of time on-line.

 - Can we have a macro for inserting signatures in
random order?:) I know, signature should be in that
case "oneliners", but who know, maybe there is a
 way!?:)

Incoming message text in stream.

2000-04-14 Thread Sir Jinx!

 Hello,

In the last day or two I've received quite a few
messages that had text in one long line. First I thought
that the senders forgot to format their text, but the
number of those messages is to big! Is this a problem
with TB' or with the sender?

Intuition saves unread posts!!!

2000-02-15 Thread Sir Jinx!

Hello TBUDLers,

Has anyone got unread [bat] posts in temp folder that never
reached Inbox folder??? I experienced that today: I was just
about to clean the contents of c:\windows\temp when something
possessed me to read the messages!:o

Note: I had to close TB with ctrl+alt+del in the middle of
receiving mail, because some other application went totally
bananas and TB didn't respond at all. How could those post end in
temp folder instead in Inbox?

p.s. Funny thing: few hours later, all those messages came
regularly into Inbox!!! How come?

Puzzled,
Sir Jinx! mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Boxer99

2000-02-15 Thread Sir Jinx!

Hello TBUDL,

Andrash said:
Boxer 99 comes very close and of course is superior at
formatting unquoted material but it's $60 a license.

Yes, Boxer99 _is_ a shareware, but the only thing that will
happen if you don't pay it is the nagging message that the trial
period is out. Otherwise it will work just fine.

Btw, I prefer Textpad 4.0 more.
