Hi starc, In fact, it didn't solve my problem. What I had until now, where 2 filtering strings one below the other. One would filter messages with starc as recipient, the other messages with TBUDL as recipient. It doesn't seem to work. No wonder, two filter strings in one set means the messages has to satisfy both conditions to be considered a match. Next time you have questions about filters, you better post exactly (in detail) how you set it up, so other people could understand you better. Simply stating that you have a rule that doesn't work isn't very informative. Another question now. Since my rules didn't work I would like to apply my new, hopefully working filter rule to the messages that are already in the incoming mail folder. Is there a way of doing this? Hi starc, I had this rule all the time and it didn't work. But now I know why :) The problem is, this was my second filter rule and now I took a closer look, and there is an option that says "continue processing with other rules" that has to be checked, and it wasn't It has to be checked only when you other rules to be applied to the messages that has been handled by the first rule. It won't prevent other rules to be applied to other messages (that don't match the first rule). If indeed enabling the option solves your problem, then the first rule is preempting the second rule, meaning you've probably had too broad a filter definition for the first rule. (a bad default in my opinion). It's a good default for me (and I guess you'll agree if understand what exactly the option means), since few of my messages have to be handled by more than one rule. -- Best regards, Ming-Li The Bat! 1.46 Beta/3 | Win2k SP1 -- -- View the TBUDL archive at http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com To send a message to the list moderation team double click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe from TBUDL, double click here and send the message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org

Generally speaking, I use the alternative sets only when different "locations" (or in rare cases, "presence") are involved. In this case, since both strings are sought in "Sender", there's no need to use alternative sets.
