That cracked it. I set the clock back a few days (i.e. to what it should have been

The way to do it is to export those affected messages into a UNIX
mailbox, and edit that with a text editor. The structure of the UNIX
mailbox is very simple and it should be obvious what needs to be changed
when you open it.

I don't know from within Bat, but "outside of it" it should be possible,
but be careful. You could edit .tbb files and replace mentioned year of
receiving (assuming that day/month/time is correct).

As to other files, it can be possible with a UNIX utility called
"touch", since there is a version which works under Windows as well.

But, if you decide, slowly and be careful; try to make backups first.

It has no point. It's probably a mutilated message that's gotten to
you or a fragment that was garbled up and sent further as an
independent message, while the good fragment was resent and
incorporated into the real message. Another possibility would be that
is was inserted to hotmail account during some disk maintenance. (or
created due to a disk error) What pleads for the disk-options is the
fact that the message didn't have a message-id, when a message lacks a
proper id, the first mta should insert a proper message-id...

Enter something in the BCC field and TB will send it away, even if

As I told you in my previous message, it was something I just did in

inserted a To: header in the list message.

You could try for TB, I think you can't do without a sender and an

G> email without a to: field ?

Sure. Create a message without a To: header, but with a BCC: Actually
that's something that's recently being discussed and done on TBOT.

Apart from that, there's no reason at all for messages to be sent from
the address mentioned in the From: header or to be sent to the address
mentioned in the To: header. An example of the latter is this
message: I'm putting [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the To: header and
that's where it goes, but afterwards it's being send to you, me and
some more. That re-addressing is done solely by means of the
smtp-envelope, after all the To: header remains the same. And there's
no relaying mta that thinks the To: header should be altered. (Some
insert one when it's missing, but altering is never done.)

I realise that TB can't send a message without addressing it to the
address in the To: header, but that's because TB is written as a
normal e-mail client and not as something that does silly tricks. But
it's rather easy for me to write a simple script for my mail server
that creates a message with a valid To: header while the message
itself is being send to somewhere else.

Hi MAU,
This is a known bug. It also applies to flags.
It looks like the data from the msg is stored in a buffer and then
compared to the filter condition.
If there is an action, like set a flag/colour group. This isn´t done
after al filtering on this msg has been done.

It is logged as an official bug.

I do this with a number of addresses. Let's call them A, B, C,...

I have a number of filters, one next to the other, and all the same:

  If Recipient = X then
Move Inbox to Inbox
COPY message to Folder X
  Continue processing with other filters

Obviously, in each filter X = A, B, C...
I use "Recipient" but it should work just the same with "Kludges"

And finally, at the end of the series of filters I have another one:

  If Recipient = A
  OR Recipient = B
  OR Recipient = C
  OR
 Move Inbox to Trash
 Mark message as read

(ORs are Alternatives)

It works just fine for me, no matter what combination of A, B, C, ...
etc., I get in a message.

The first filter should have two rules on the main tab:
Bill present in kludges AND
Bob present in Kludges

Move message to folder: Bill

and, under the Actions tab:
[X] Create a copy of the message in another folder: Bob.

If this filter doesn't catch (because only Bill or only Bob is present
in kludges), the other filters will work as usual.

I have a similar problem, but I handle it slightly differently. If
another folder called "Bill and Bob", and when both are present in
kludges, the message will be moved to that folder. This way, I see
immediately when the message was addressed to both.

Another idea is to move messages from Bill and from Bob into the smae
folder anyway, but colour them differently. Blue for Bill and green
for Bob. And of course, if the messages contains both Bill's and Bob's
email address, use violet.

Is this possible?

2003-07-15 Thread Stuart Hemming
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

I have a number of folders that I keep mail from specific individuals
in. I also have filters set up to move messages to/from those
individuals in to the appropriate box.

Just lately I have found myself mailing 2 or 3 of these people at the
same time. Is there a way I can set up the filers so that if there are
multiple addressees a copy goes to each folder without me ending up
with the original being left in my inbox?

The filters work by checking for the individual's email address in
Kludges. I bcc myself on each outgoing message so that the copy gets
filed properly when copy gets mailed back to me. If I just set

[x] continue processing other rules

the bcc'd copy will always end up in my inbox. If I create a rule to
delete messages from me in the inbox (after the othere filters have
had a chance) I will lose any messages I bcc to me where there /isn't/
a specific folder for the addressee.

Do you SWIM?

Yes but that is almost useless when you can't restrict it to the
nicknames only or at least cause it to search that field completely
prior to any others. If it finds a real name that matches the first
few characters of the nickname before it finds the nickname then it
stops. And YOU CAN'T MAKE IT CONTINUE. What is really needed is
select buttons for all the current options plus nickname and the
ability to indicate order if more than one option is selected.

Current implementation fails if I attempt to find and auto complete
the nickname KEVIN when there is an entry

Kevinry, Joejoek [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Lewis, Kevinkevin [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Since nicknames are alwasy unique the ability to search on nicknames
only gives you the best chance of selecting the correct entry.
Currently because of the implementation I have had to turn off all
auto complete and that can really be a pain.

You already are on 1.6 ... to update to a later version: for betas and
small fixes there usually is a packed EXE which can just be copied
over the old one (make a backup first or rename the old one).

For bigger updates there is a full installer that I recommend as it
also updates other files.

> or the 1.60a must be run independentely of 1.60?

You can but you don't have to.

The current fix, BTW, is 1.60c, which was announced yesterday on
TBBETA.

As this is TBUDL and I think the fixed EXE is on the Beta FTP I won't
post the URL here. It has to do with leakage. If nobody else posts it
here - I hope so - mail me privately.

Actually, when I babble about it I normally add that it needs to be
controlled by a switch so that the user has an option to limit the
search to nicknames or at very least, cause a pass through all of the
nickname prior to looking at any of the other fields.

I look forward to seeing this feature then. However I would like it
then to use the persons first name for the %TOFName tag in the

have severall Friends called Steve and the Bat always chooses the

No, what he means and I meant was the ability to auto complete the
nickname and also to restrict the search to the nickname. Current
implementation will stop if it finds a partial match in the name field
and may never reach the nickname that you were trying to use.
