I don't think so, but since it has received such a positive response I
guess I should. :-)

Glad you brought this suggestion up, I keep meaning to post something
similar, it nearly caught me out recently when I moved parked messages
to another folder. I would have thought it safer, and more intuitive, to
have parked messages keep this attribute when moved or copied.

Indeed. The lack of any response to requests for "sticky" status of many
attributes too is rather odd. I just want to know if it is likely to
happen or not, then i can shut up and either rejoice or kick the cat...

LOL!

When you choose to move parked messages, a pop-up query appears asking if
you 'really wish' to move parked messages. Under that query should be a
checkable option to re-enable parking at the new destination.

Be that as it may, a simple option to make the message simply
'undeletable' would probably be less annoying and more useful to most.
In this way, moving messages around will not affect their 'undeletable'
status.

So much has been said about this on multiple occasions that it's strange
that nothing has been done about it to date. :-))

It is intuitive, if you think of it like a car:
you put in in 'park' mode if you want it to stay exactly there...
when you move it around & put it somewhere else, don't be surprised
when you're car goes byebye if you didn't put the brakes back on...
(which is parking mode...)

While this is technically correct, past discussions have shown that

1) it's not intuitive to many (if not most) people, who tend to
think it's for keeping messages from being deleted; and

2) most people indeed want the ability to keep messages from being
deleted, and want to keep them that way across folders.

So maybe it's time to change the implementation (and maybe give it a
new name) or add a new function.

Parking is a bit different from coloring and flagging. Parking is to
prevent from accidentally deleting or moving from a folder. How can a
message in one folder be parked to another?

Another odd aspect of parking: If I manually re-filter messages in my
InBox, applying an Incoming Messages filter intended to move messages to
another folder, TB *copies* any relevant messages that are parked to the
destination folder with the parking intact. So, in this case, TB treats
the parked status as a property of the message.

Actually, I think this behavior is probably unintentional (aka bug). :)

Nice summary. I whole-heartedly agree.

(When you flag or colour a message and then move it, the
flag and/or colour move as well. I'd expect some kind of
consistency here.)

Hello Avenarius,

I don't think Karin is complaining about the park feature itself, few
of us would. The problem with it is that when you move a parked
message to another folder, the parked status is lost in the new
folder. The debate comes down to, is the Parked status a property of
the message or a property of the message in the current folder? It
appears that the TB developers have chosen the latter.

My personal opinion is that it should be a property of the message, so
moving or copying does not remove the parked status.
