Re: NOD32 v2 question
Marck- I use NOD32 *without* the plugin and it seems to work just fine. I don't scan outgoing emails, though, and there's a long-standing controversy about the value of doing this. If that's the real crux of the matter, then I can't be of much help. -Mark Wieder Using The Bat! v1.63 Beta/7 on Windows 2000 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 2 -- Current version is 1.62r | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Also, POP encryption using TLS is becoming popular so mail would be encrypted at the Winsock level which is where IMON works. The plugin would therefore be needed in such a situation. So the plug-in isn't required if you're not using POP encryption. AMON will prevent outbound mail infection provided attachments are added to mail from explorer and infected attachments aren't handled within TB! itself, i.e., the infected mail is redirected/forwarded after receipt. - -- -= allie_M =- | List Moderator _ -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: PGP SDK 3.0.2 iQA/AwUBPw6XJ1fJ62ArBxfiEQIyxACdG/ckDg6ZbNbMl2zvvPtqX3v+mOwAni97 W0X9AdhrkMIQmIhFXod7yYw7 =U5ox -END PGP SIGNATURE- Current version is 1.62r | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Is there a > way to configure it to work correctly? Hi Marck, I'm using NOD32 v2 and to the best of my knowledge, there is no need for a plug-in. IMON is automatically set to listen on port 110. I would suggest looking in the help file that comes with NOD32 as there are directions on how to set up IMON. For the paranoid (me), there is an option that will append a line to each e-mail letting you know it's been scanned. I used this to make sure all of my accounts were getting scanned then turned it off. This is what is appended at the bottom of the e-mail. __ NOD32 1.457 (20030710) Information __ This message was checked by NOD32 Antivirus System. http://www.nod32.com -- Best Regards, Terry Using The Bat! v1.62r on Windows 2000 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 3 Current version is 1.62r | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
