Re: Why won`t the Bat get rid of old mail

2002-06-20 Thread Tony A.T. Mendina

Friends,

I've noticed something similar, at least in the past few versions of
The Bat (I'm on 1.60q now). The "on exit" settings seem to be ignored
for folders in trees which aren't expanded...but if I expand the
folder tree before I exit the program, the folders are purged.

How odd...

Tony

I ticked those off, and messages are still remaining in the folder.

These figures work when you purge the folder. Over here, I manually
Purge & Compress All Folders every few days, but you can also let TB
handle this automatically:

Folder / Properties / General / On Exit...

You'll have to 'Purge' this (or all) folder(s) to make The Bat! cleaning up
following the rules you've set in folder properties.

This can either be done on 'Exit', when set in folder properties on first
tab sheet at the very end, or manually when choosing menu 'Folder' /
'Purge+Compress' or 'Folder' / 'Purge All Folders'.

Did you tic "Remove old messages" and "Compress the folder" in the "On
exit"-section just below the settings you refer to?
