I tried this template as well and noticed the extra lines. It seems to
add an extra line for each person. I got rid of the line (as described
above) and that reduced the number of added lines but I still get
extra lines.

Any other suggestions?

The only other change I made is to add %- to the last line. I don't
know if this will help, but worth a try. Mine now reads
#~%-

RA Hmm, don't know why that happens. It doesn't to me - did you edit the QT
RA at all?

No, I have not changed it. I'm guessing it has to do with the number
of addresses you are sending it to.

And to offer you a further challenge, if I address it to a group of
people it seems to have no greeting at all.

RA Yes, there is a line in the QT
RA %_GAR_Max=4%-
RA that defines the maximum number of names that you want to appear on the
RA greeting line. Change that value 4 if you want to see more. Personally,
RA 4 is about the maximum number of names I want to see before it becomes
RA slightly absurd.

Actually this is not quite what I was referring to. I have some groups
of people I send mail to. For example the executive of the
Paramedic Association I belong to. When I select to send to this group
it puts the line PAM Exec in the To: line and not the peoples names.
When this happens I no greeting at all.

Like I said, I hope your up for a challenge. :)

RO When it's only some AB groups that have this problem,. then you might
RO check whether you've got an AB template for those groups.

It is not an Address book template, although I could let Anson off the
hook and use an AB Template to solve my problem :)
I just checked and when I select the group I end up with
PAM ExecList on the To: line. I assume this is the problem because
there are no names to select. I was thinking of a solution like if the
address is a group then just use a Hello All type greeting.

Ok, I solved this problem. In your template there is a line between
:~~%_GAR_Default~~ and

%To=%To=%_GAR_Text%-
near the bottom of the template. Removing this spare line solves the
problem.

Also does anyone know why most of the templates are listed twice on
the website?

Hello Robin,

A reminder of what Robin Anson typed on:
  February 12, 2005 at 10:45:09 GMT +1100

RA You could use my Greet All Recipients QT in the macro and QT library
RA (http://cgi.silverstones.com/library.php). What it does is:
RA* automatically put multiple recipients on the greeting line (eg
RA Hello George, Alan, Katie,)
RA* for each person select the name used in the following order:
RA 1. If there is a line aka: nickname in the addressbook memo
RA field, it will use nickname
RA 2. If there is no nickname, it will use the firstname in the
RA addressbook
RA 3. If there is no firstname in the addressbook, it will use the
RA %ToFName macro

I like this method, however when I use it my cursor ends up about 7
lines down the page. Am I doing something wrong. My template is as
follows.
-
%QINCLUDE=Greet_All_Recipients %-
  %Cursor

--
Best regards,
-

And to offer you a further challenge, if I address it to a group of
people it seems to have no greeting at all.
