No, you *can't*. You can set 'justified' in paragraph properties and
M$ Word will justify paragraph by setting space size in a line every
other time it will show it at the screen or at the printer. So to see
that text is justified you will need a program that will re-justify it
while displaying.

Thanks to all for both on and offlist explanations. Now it
makes sense. Its for those 'fancy editor thingy' reasons that
you can't use it. For the record: I use a spellchecker
occassionally & try to set my client to automatically wrap text
at 70 charectors, and a little cut and pasting on occasion.
Thats about the extent of my editor wants. As such, right
justify, indent paragraph, WYSIWIG and such are just not
relevant. I understand others do need that capability though,
and can understand why I am being limited so that they can use
  these functions now. :-)

MDP> WARNING: No holy font wars - I'm just informing here, okay?

Nope, no holy wars. Displaying text in Times New Roman does not
add one iota to my usability of a program. It just adds to my
enjoyment of reading the text. Which is not a factor in program
decisions to me.

I'm a bit slow. Whats the big deal about proportional fonts? Are you
referring to sending email in HTML format? I never use HTML, just
plain text, so the font really doesn't matter other than for display
purposes. Which, I must say, I prefer being able to set my own font
for displaying messages cause I like to look at New Times Roman and it
is not one of the choices.

As a responsible adult, I WANT to use proportional fonts. The Bat is
acting like "uncle" and preventing ME from doing so.

It would not be so bad if most of the other software out there acted
like The Bat, but they don't. The Bat is non-standard in its approach,
is irksome to me, and I'd like the choice.

As a responsible adult :O))

Wrong here. There are lots of text mode mail clients. E.g. mail

2000-09-19 Thread Avenarius

Thanks, Karin!

By the way, where does one download the the_bat.hlp file? It wasn't
included in the executable package when I downloaded it... nor in the
language pack (or the connection doesn't click on my machines). And
when I browse www.ritlabs.com/ftp/ with CuteFTP, I can't see the help
file anywhere... (There was only Marek Mikus's excellent Czech help
file and a similar German one.)
