[Texascavers] Godwin Ranch Cave Preserve Roadside Trash Pickup Sunday April 8, 2018 9:00 am

2018-04-02 Thread Andrea Croskrey
 Looking for Volunteers!

Godwin Ranch Cave Preserve Roadside Trash Pickup
When: Sunday April 8, 2018 9:00 am
Where: Georgetown
What: pickup trash along the properties road front.

Come help us be a good neighbor and clean up roadside trash along TCMA's
Godwin Ranch property in Georgetown.

Bring:
* Sturdy work gloves, boots, long pants/shirts
* Water, a snack, sun protection
* High-visibility clothing

The Godwin Ranch caves are endangered species caves, so no caving. But if
there is interest we will have a group walk across the property for those
who helped clean up -- the wildflowers should be blooming. And/or, we can
get together for lunch at the Catfish Parlour down the road. Contact Andrea
Croskrey for details / location. Try to carpool!

2014-05-03 Thread Andrea Croskrey
Howdy Texas Cavers!

Due to Finals Week at the University of Texas, we will be having a picnic and
presentation at Jim Kennedy and Yaz Avila's house in south Austin for this
week's meeting. Thank you so much to Jim and Yaz for hosting! This will be a
BYO event so if you would like food, beverages, and chairs, bring them! We
will have a projector and screen up for the presentation and Jim as offered to
have the grill fired up for people to use and there might even be some yard
games for those who show up early!

Speaker: Bill Stone will sharing photos, videos and stories from the 2013 J2
expedition and will provide a quick 5 minute summary of the 2014 Huautla
Expedition.

When: You are welcome to show up as early as 7pm but the meeting will start at
7:45pm. Sunset is around 8:15pm so it will hopefully be dark enough to see the
presentation slides when the time comes.

Where: Jim and Yaz's house, contact them for directions. Yaz can be emailed
through the UT Grotto website and both of them have contact information on the
grotto email list.

Bus Options: There are a lot of great bus options for those that want to help
reduce parking needs, be kind to the environment and skip out on needing a
designated driver. I know I am planning on biking and then getting on the 801
to go home. The #1 and #10 buses are also a great options for getting north.

Parking: Gill's house, two doors east of Jim and Yaz's place

Rain Plan: Currently an 8% chance Wednesday evening but just in case, the rain
plan is to try to pile into Gill's living room.

See you there!

Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the
texascavers-dig...@texascavers.com mailing list.

I'm working for my owner, who can be reached
at texascavers-digest-ow...@texascavers.com.

To confirm that you would like

   acrosk...@gmail.com

added to the texascavers-digest mailing list, please send
an empty reply to this address:

   texascavers-digest-sc.1362412136.mlmbhpngbdabkdnolbch-acroskrey=
gmail@texascavers.com

Usually, this happens when you just hit the reply button.
If this does not work, simply copy the address and paste it into
the To: field of a new message.

This confirmation serves two purposes. First, it verifies that I am able
to get mail through to you. Second, it protects you in case someone
forges a subscription request in your name.

Some mail programs are broken and cannot handle long addresses. If you
cannot reply to this request, instead send a message to
texascavers-requ...@texascavers.com and put the
entire address listed above into the Subject: line.

--- Administrative commands for the texascavers-digest list ---

I can handle administrative requests automatically. Please
do not send them to the list address! Instead, send
your message to the correct command address:

For help and a description of available commands, send a message to:
   texascavers-h...@texascavers.com

To subscribe to the list, send a message to:
   texascavers-subscr...@texascavers.com

To remove your address from the list, just send a message to
the address in the ``List-Unsubscribe'' header of any list
message. If you haven't changed addresses since subscribing,
you can also send a message to:
   texascavers-unsubscr...@texascavers.com

For addition or removal of addresses, I'll send a confirmation
message to that address. When you receive it, simply reply to it
to complete the transaction.

If you need to get in touch with the human owner of this list,
please send a message to:

texascavers-ow...@texascavers.com

[Texascavers] Sketcher needed for a 4 day trip this weekend.

2013-03-04 Thread Andrea Croskrey
Hi Texas Cavers,
I would like to have another sketcher for our trip to Three Fingers Cave
this weekend. This cave is in the Guadalupe Mountains on the Lincoln
National Forest in New Mexico. The trip is vertical, has a steep hike to
the cave at elevations around 6500ft, and the sketching could possibly in
breakdown or very large room. The drive is about 10 hours from Austin. We
are leaving Friday March 8th and returning on Monday March 11 with about
8-10 hour caving days on Saturday and Sunday. The cave is beautiful and
you'll get to cave with fun people! Please email me at acroskrey at gmail
dot com if you think you could help us out.
Cavingly,
Andrea Croskrey
